Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaPaper thin walls. We could hear everything going on in the next room. The bed was falling apart and creaked every time I moved. The mattress was so old and over used that it was so sunken on each side. The bathrooms were horrible. They weren’t cleaned weekly, like stated. And the water pressure didn’t exist on our floor so the toilet didn’t flush and the shower water trickled out.
The location was good. The room was spacious

United KingdomThe shower was almost unusable due to water pressure not being strong. Thankfully they had a bath tub which was a good replacement. When the staff were asked they replied that the janitor couldn't fix it until after our stay.
Great location and connection to anywhere in the city. Large room and good range of facilities.

United KingdomCommunal areas are disgusting. Carpets looked like they hadn’t been hoovered in months. There were at least two pairs of soiled underwear in the main staircase and communal bathroom whilst I was there. Despite the assurance that communal bathrooms are cleaned once a week, the last cleaning was 22nd May when I was there, and I left on the 31st without it having been cleaned. The shared bathrooms are also between 4 guest rooms/ studios on each floor, so it’s very difficult to gauge when they’ll be free if you’re there for work and need to leave at a certain time. The staff also refuse to clean up kitchen areas if guests don’t keep them tidy, so it’s sort of your luck as to whether those get cleaned as it depends on other guests… The Wi-Fi is dreadful and frequently cuts out. I know it’s budget, but it was pretty grim.
Room was functional and had most kitchen appliances needed.

Initially, my expectations were not high upon booking, but to my surprise, the service was commendable. They efficiently shortened my stay upon request, addressed and resolved a bathroom issue within the same day, and maintained commendable cleanliness throughout the premises.

AustriaLet me preface by saying that I usually don't write reviews - just add ratings but one has to comment on the situation here. Also, I am not particularly fussy either, I've been to my fair share of dorms and hostels too. The place needs work. A lot of it. And transparency when advertising. Because the pictures and descriptions are quite divorced from the reality of the place. Let's see: - A new set of bugs in the bathroom every day - lack of toilet paper?! - sticky floors (not sticky clean for sure) - paper thin walls - odd smell throughout the house - spotty WiFi - bed mattress so old that it is more like a wave that will give you back pain no matter how you sleep - and the lack of basic amenities I understand that this is some form of short stay shared apartment complex, but if you've decided to make money over the summer and advertise it as lodging, then you should be ready to make your guests feel like there is some sort of service. No, towels do not comprise extra service in 2025, they should be provided. Rooms should be cleaned and sheets changed during the stay - maybe not every day but in the 5 days I was there nobody vacuumed anything once, to say nothing of the trash. Your sockets and electricity supply are also troublesome. As you did not care to provide a hairdryer when I asked, I went and bought one of my own, plugged it in and the thing promptly died. I thought, sure must be faulty but when I brought it back to the store it worked fine. Why is that? Well, because of the ancient and clearly not maintained infrastructure. Bathrooms, especially shared ones MUST be cleaned more often!! By day 3, all bar one had run out of toilet paper which nobody replaced??? And then you have the gall to write to me how I should take the trash out myself upon Check-out?
Well, it was close to the university at least, as I was there for a conference.

United KingdomFirst of all, the room I was given looked "nothing" like the photos on Booking.com. It was basically unfurnished, smelled like mould and dust, and was clearly not cleaned at all. As soon as I stepped in, my eyes started watering, I was sneezing non-stop, and my skin began to itch — clearly a health hazard. When I complained, instead of properly resolving the issue, I was told to go to a completely different address. I had to walk 10 minutes just to get there, dragging my luggage like a fool. After finally reaching that location, I received yet "another" room number and access code. I wasted over an hour trying to figure out where I was even supposed to stay. After a long trip from Manchester, this was an absolutely ridiculous situation to be put in. And no surprise, the second room wasn’t any better. It was filthy. There were hairs in the sink, the curtains were torn, and the toilet was disgusting. On top of that, I genuinely suspect the place has bed bugs — I woke up itching all over and now I have bites on my body. That is completely unacceptable and borderline dangerous. I was supposed to check out tomorrow at 10 AM, but I left today at 4 PM because I couldn’t take another minute. My skin is still irritated and I’m beyond disgusted. This was one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve ever had. I demand a refund, and I suggest someone investigate the condition of that property because what I went through should "not" be happening to paying guests.

SwedenEven though I made the booking on this website there was an additional booking step that I was not informed about. This involved the hotel asking me to mail my card details, as I didn't want to do this I could give them over the phone. I do not feel comfortable handing out my full card details in this way and it should have been clearly stated when booking.
