Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaNothing really - slight drain smell in bathroom but to be expected in place with old plumbing. Bathroom was very clean though and shower worked well.
Very nice apartment in amazing old estate. It was brilliant seeing the old Victorian kitchen and billiard room and reading about the history of the place. Grounds were superb and hosts were very welcoming. Apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Washing machine in apartment and able to use industrial size drier in 'boot room' downstairs. Great to be able to walk around the grounds with wildlife and highland cattle etc. About a half- hour walk to shops and centre of Wrexham but a car is needed really - good parking near the flat.

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like …. If pushed for something , the highland cattle didn’t come to the top drive enough . That’s how amazing this accommodation is !
Beautiful house , best location , everything you could possibly need was in the flat and a few things we didn’t realise we needed

GreeceThe whole place is magnificent! The mansion is unique! We stayed in the cook's flat for 3 nights and honestly it is one of the most beautiful rooms we have stayed in. The attention to detail they have given makes the difference! You can spend the day at the estate and enjoy nature and the animals that exist there. Besides that, it takes you back to old times. You have the feeling that you are living in the 19th century. The old kitchen, the dining room and the games room have unique items from those years, it's really like a museum! Having said that, this place is a must if you are travelling to Wrexham! We are so thankful and probably we'll be travelling again there since the days were not enough!

United KingdomCook's Flat is perfect - beautifully and thoughtfully designed, with everything you need. The whole estate is heavenly - fabulous communal games and reading room downstairs, and a restored Victorian kitchen. Highland cattle and ponies grazing on parkland outside, and geese hanging out. Wonderful hosts, magical woodland, plenty of places to walk or sit and get your Nature Dose. Can absolutely recommend to future guests, and can't wait to return!

United KingdomAs mentioned in other reviews the water pressure for the shower was very poor. The beautiful sash windows were a bit drafty /rattly in the wind but we had heating and were very comfortable just took some time to get used to them
Cook's flat in a stunning location not too far from Wrexham town centre . The flat was really well decorated and cosy . The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay and the washing machine was a welcome addition. The bed room was a great size with a comfortable bed . Loved the beauty of the grounds although we didn't explore too much and the Victorian kitchen was amazing. Like stepping back in time. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again

United KingdomWe enjoyed it all. The two flights of stone stairs could be a problem for some, but this is made clear in the property description and not an issue for us. Again, the internal showeroom is not idesl, but a small consideration given the age of the building and how well it had been adapted for modern living.
We really enjoyed out stay in this unusual flat. Lovely quiet setting with expansive grounds to enjoy. It had an upstairs downstairs feel with the wonderful Victorian kitchen, games room & boot room below. Great location for exploring Chester, North Wales and nearby industrial heritage. I thought it might be draughty or cold but it was very cosy with or without the lovely open fire. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We very much appreciated the little welcome pack too.

United KingdomDidn’t see any member of staff during the whole of our stay!
Very quiet. Separate living room to bedroom which makes it more home from home. Set in acres of land which unfortunately we didn’t have time to explore. Lovely part of the country.
