Decking was dangerously slippy ! I know it’s under the trees etc but just jet wash it all of us slipped in it and it felt horrible with bear feet ! Even the no slip bars were slippy , window opposite the tub would not open and the general cleanliness was not great finding old clothes around the place dust around the light shades the sinks the kitchen lights and cooker hood etc, not great tbh

The staff at the resort wasn't as helpful as I would have hoped. There where a lot of young girls and boys on the leisure desk which always seemed like we was interrupting them when asking for help or advise. The Lodge we stayed in was beautiful excellent space it's wasn't as clean as I would have expected for the money we paid however the location and the cleaness of the hot tub out weighed that. The shower still had marks on the tiles and the mirrors had smudge marks on, there was a lot of dust and fair balls under the couches and someone's tshirt, in the main bed room there was a pair of ladies underwear must have been from previous people however maybe should have been checked as for nearly £2000 you should expect it to be cleaned through out. But where it was situated was just perfect so relaxing would definitely go again minus the few issues the location and hot tub was perfect.

The site was absolutley stunning, the Lodge where we stayed was situated in the perfect location, the hot tub was immaculate. There is plenty to do on the site.

The property appeared clean but behind the en suite door along the skirting there was a build up of dust and hair. Also when we shut the door under the television cupboard a huge mound of hair wafted out. It was disgusting.

Loved the cabin being in the corner. Decor and furnishings were good.

Too much information & often from different sources. Information often conflicted. Booking.com, Bookalet, Finlake Resort, Devon Holidays & Cabin owners all need to get together and sort out a SINGLE point of contact and a SINGLE set of conditions for everything. Being threatened with charges for damage & cleanliness or excessive use of gas/electric before we even arrived! Stains on the carpet and damage to the floor under the table. damage to the inside of a bathroom door. We took photos before we unpacked! Oven light not working. We used our phone light to check on the food.

Spacious & well equipped cabin. Generally it was quite clean. Much quieter than we expected, which we liked. Kids at school & not many cabins occupied. Hot tub went down well with most of the group. Kitchen with both a dishwasher & a washing machine was nice but we didn't use either.

Cleanliness was poor. Doors were even dirty. Drain blocked in shower with horrible smell. Hot tub was ok but could do with a net to get the bugs etc out. Mattress in main bedroom was awful with springs jabbing at you. Floor was thick in dirt, dropped some water on the floor and wiped it up with kitchen roll and it was black. The whole place just needs a really good scrub down. It would be nice if it was cleaned.

Location was great. Facilities at the site were very good. Towels were nice. Good place for dogs.

To start with the constant bombardment of emails, text messages from booking.com, Finlake and then Devon Holidays. Finlake booking system for activities is appalling and had to email for help. Got there eventually. The lodge was not the cleanest, lots of fluff/dirt on ensuite and bathroom floor. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. If you like springs and the crunch of springs everytime you move then this is the place for you! We slept on top of the duvet to add extra padding and then used Duvets from spare beds for cover. There is no frying pan, which I would class as a basic necessity. Bedroom window closest to hot tub does not open. Latches on three internal doors are broke (two of which are wardrobe doors) and the door between lounge and hallway. When we arrived the whole decking was covered in leaves and steps up were ankle deep in leaves. Contacted Devon Holidays to try and arrange for someone to clear it or at least arrange for us to use a broom so we safely use the steps and decking as very slippy to be told that wasn't possible and we would have to go out and buy a broom, clear it ourselves and send the receipt in. Have done that and still no response. They tried to claim house keeping had cleared all the leaves the day before which is absolutely not true given how bad it was and wet decomposing leaves had not been there just 24hrs. The PlayStation doesn't work, not a biggie for us but a warning for those expecting to use it. The hot tub appeared clean and was heated but in the 4 nights we were there not once were the chemical levels checked and when I pulled the filter out on the last night it was pretty dirty. Masses of potential but for the money we paid these things should be sorted

The lodge has huge potential, great size, particularly as there were only two of us. Lovely site

Decking was very slippery due to mildew, lamp in living room didn’t work, ceiling light in double bedroom didn’t work very well, wish they had provided sweeping brush and not just vacuum cleaner, only could park 1 car on the drive and the other one in the main car park - there was definitely space to fit 2 vehicles on the driveway

The road is very nice with lots of privacy, large rooms, 2 bathrooms, hot tub, privacy, storage options, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, towels and bedding provided, sofas were large and comfortable, dining table with chairs, large living room tv, utensils and cutlery provided, Finlake was a beautiful place and in a great location

Pet hairs in carpet and along skirting boards. Windows covered in hand prints. Nowhere to hang towels to dry . The online system for booking activities was absolutely appalling and staff not helpful at all, apart from Gemma who managed to sort it for us. The smoke alarms battery needed changing when we got there, took them 3 and 1/2 hours to do that.

Location was great. Hot tub was fantastic. Comfortable and in a quiet spot. Kitchen had everything we needed and dishwasher was a bonus.
