Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt would have been good to have some warning about the access to the boat, as climbing into it may not be suitable for the elderly and those with mobility issues.
We liked the location on the river Stour, very near to the centre with lovely cafes, restaurants and transport. It was fun to find little treats (including for the ducks), a well stocked fridge and the drink cabinets to which we could help ourselves, just leaving some money in "the honesty box". Jessie, the owner of the boat was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the sense of adventure.

Such fun!! Perfect little yacht in a perfect, peaceful location. 5 minute walk into a buzzing little town with bars, pubs, and every type of food you could possibly want. The owner is passionate about this little yacht and is super helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be staying again. The “honesty” bar is a very nice thought. Oh…and the yacht labelled wine is really good too!!

United KingdomThere isn't really much. You have to learn a bit about how to use the facilities, take your own sleeping bags or bedding and learn how the electrical items are powered - that's more advice to others than a negative.
Amazing location on a cute little yacht - so beautiful and convenient for the centre of beautiful Sandwich. An unusual experience compared to staying in a hotel building with real charm and character. We really enjoyed it - it felt like more of a holiday. Everything you need is in this little yacht or in a shower block nearby. We slept well and it was wonderful to wake up on the river. You accept this is not a luxurious place but the bags of charm and personality more than make up for it. I would choose this boat above many hotels. It has a microwave in the small but perfectly formed kitchen area and the owners provided extra treats such as cereals, cereal bars beverages and mineral water plus it had a well stocked fridge with milk too. It gave me a little sense of adventure. Lovely stay.

United KingdomA lovely old boat full of rustic charm. Be realistic when you stay on this vessel with your expectations. If you'd like hot sleek showers and super king beds this probably isnt for you. But for a small sailing boat experience why not go for it! The host is charming and may even leave you some brandy if your lucky!

United KingdomNothing. We loved it.
We had a glorious stay on the gorgeous little boat. Think Glamping think cozy. It was such a little adventure. We chose to eat in both nights (pre prept food one night and take out the next) as we just loved spending time there. Perfect spot to explore the nearby coast with a difference. Jessie was great with information and correspondence. Highly recommended.

United KingdomBit difficult in the toilet because of cramped space and low ceiling.
We enjoyed our stay, first time on a small boat, a little cramped but was not really a problem. If the weather was better we could have stayed outside on the boat until late evening. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, cereals and alcohol, although we did not take advantage of this. Cold drinks in the ref and an HONESTY BOX to drop some cash if you helped yourself to anything. We ran out of water but a call to Jessie, the owner, and he was over here in a jiffy to fill up the water tank.

United KingdomAn air fryer would be an ideal appliance to use for cooking, as well as an on-site shower. There is a £4 pay as you go shower, however, which is near the american gun boat, just the other side of the toll bridge.
From it's accessible and central location to on-site bar and restaurant, this boat provides a great on water stay which makes exploring Sandwich town a pleasure. Plenty of close on-site parking made unpacking and packing our bikes and paddleboards straight forward too. The boat had plenty provisions supplied by the owners, which was much appreciated, and a contribution was made to the honesty box. We intend on booking again in the near future. Sandwich is an excellent place to visit and the seal watching topped it off.
