Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property is run down and looks tired, with lots of peeling paint and a feeling of not being well loved. Whilst the house smelled of cleaning products, it felt like it needed a deep clean of windows and cupboards etc. The oven didn’t work well, but it did work. We also found wanting for things such as clothes airer, kitchen paper towells, floor brush, dustpan and brush etc.
The location and views were incredible! You could not have wished for a better view to wake up to. The beds were very comfortable, and all bedding smelled very fresh and clean. This is value for money for size and location. Owner was really lovely when we rang for advice too!

United KingdomNeeded to clean toilets, fridge and hob on arrival (dog hair on hob and cooker door). Decking felt unsafe in places and some gaps in boards were big enough for chair legs to drop through which meant a couple of falls. Although views were fabulous it was a shame there were several pots of dead plants and grass on decking to look at whilst sitting out. En suite shower and basin extremely slow draining and had a bit of a smell from time to time. A fair bit of TLC and tidying/repairing needed to bring the property back up to standard for the price, eg, door handle missing on lounge door, upvc frames and laminate flooring peeling in places.
Fantastic views, lots of space

United KingdomProperty needs a little tlc but nothing that affected our stay.
The views from the cottage were lovely. It was a very comfortable cottage. Barry was easy to deal with and, i'm grateful we could stay for one night. It was good value for money. Plenty of space to park the car with shared parking. There were three bathrooms which was a lovely surprise.

United KingdomIt’s a 2 bedroom house, not a 3 bedroom house, so we felt very disappointed and misled when we arrived. The 3rd “bedroom” is a bed that folds out of a cupboard in the living room. The owner blames Booking.com saying he can’t change the description. It’s a tired property that has seen better days, clean but with things like tape over window and door gaps and ripped flooring. Could be lovely but needs a lot of TLC.
The location is great with an amazing view.

United KingdomYep, the place isn't perfect, but if you want 'perfect', you might be better off booking a posh hotel. This property is very much 'lived in', with creaky flooring, sticking doors and the occasional cobweb, which, in my humble opinion, only adds to the charm. Small fridge freezer though so don't bring too much food!
Fantastic view, comfortable and spacious with two bedrooms and fold out bed in living room. Three bathrooms and three beds in second bedroom means this property could accommodate up to seven people! Well equipped kitchen, strong wi fi and receptive host. 15 minute walk down to the beach, but beware the hill! Oh, and did I mention the view?!

United KingdomProperty was a bit tired and past its heyday but honestly did not spoil our overnight stay. It was a bit like being at home, looking around and thinking "oh, I need to get that fixed or tidied up a bit". Things like plant pots full of weeds could have been sorted. The cottage had obviously been superb once but now it's only OK because it does need an injection of cash. It was conveniently located for our purpose and I would definitely use this accommodation again if returning to the area.
Loved the relaxed vibe.....very much home from home with a few jobs to do like broken tiles, rehanging curtains, a few chipped mugs but really nothing to spoil our stay. It was well equipped and clean.

United KingdomExtremely slow WiFi.. almost non existent. The property does not have three bedrooms. It has a room with double bed. Another room with three separate beds and a pull out double bed in the living room. Not great to sleep in a big living room. Bathrooms doors difficult to open and close. Downstairs WC takes ages to fill the tank once flushed. Patio door would not lock. Very difficult to lock front door. One could hear water dripping down in the living room when someone used bathroom upstairs. Small things which can and should be improved to enhance the experience.
Excellent location. Super responsive host. Nice big house with three bathrooms..one ensuite, one family and another one downstairs. Stocked kitchen.

United KingdomThe property is not fit for purpose. It was absoultely flithy. It didn’t look like it had been cleaned for at least 2025 or if it had it must of been a toddler cleaning it. We left early as we couldn’t stand staying in such flith for any longer. Flithy… The washing machine and door was broken , curtains were hanging off. The property needs some looking at before it is rented out again. It ruined our holiday.
Nothing. The photos are not a correct reflexation of the property will you be staying in.

United KingdomI was incredibly disappointed that firstly the property was so dirty on arrival that we couldn’t stay and secondly , Sea crest cottage was not as advertised. There were only 2 bedroom and the photos are very deceptive showing what looks like 3 bedrooms to support the description. In fact the second bedroom has a double bed and 2 twin beds in it. The property and decor is very tired and the downstairs toilet looks dangerous with what looks like rotten, damp floorboards. The cottage was not clean with a dirty oven and hob and bread crumbs over the counter and sticky/ dirty surfaces and light switch/ socket. The beds and bed linen were tried and I found a hair when I turned over the duvet. We had travelled 2.5 hrs to get to the property and although the owner gave us a full refund via booking.com I was cross that he had allowed us to look forward to a holiday and take our money knowing the property did not meet our needs. It was stressful and we lost time whilst we sorted out last minute alternative accommodation, thankfully in the in the area but this was not compensated for.
Unfortunately there isn’t anything positive to say about the property other than it did have a lovely view.
