Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Nothing. The room is very small so it would not really suit if you were wanting to spend a lot of time in it - but I only wanted somewhere to sleep so it was perfect for me.
Very comfortable and quiet room in an excellent town centre location. Landlady very friendly and helpful and property immaculately clean. The room is small but perfectly adequate if all you want is a base. I do not sleep on beds (lower back problem) but the landlady very kindly supplied a yoga mat for me. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location and very central to all parts of Cheltenham and transport. A very beautiful home that felt instantly welcoming, comfortable and relaxing. Lou the host is an amasing woman and very chilled. I spent two night and I could have easily made it a home. Great facilities and so comfortable. A home away from home. Thank you Lou for making this stay so perfect and calming and relaxing. Also loved the coffee and the power shower I could have stayed in it all day ❤️

Street parking, paid for through the host so easy to manage but sometimes had to look for somewhere to park.
Excellent location, very quiet. Comfortable bed, very good power shower over shower bath.

This is not a proper B&B. It should be marketed as an AirBnB. It is overpriced for what it is. No lock on the room I stayed in. This was not good enough, I have a laptop that is valuable to me and I didn't like leaving it in the room unsecured. No TV. No washbasin. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. This was available in the owners kitchen but I am used to this in the room in B&B's. Bathroom and toilet (same room) shared with the owner. Lack of privacy. Noise from owners TV/phone calls etc. in room next to mine, through interconnecting door. Interconnecting door should be locked! Small blood stain on door to my room, inside, by handle. NOT ACCEPTABLE. Storage spaces - cupboard and draws - mostly full of owners stuff. Paint peeled off from wall under radiator. Pervading smell of a certain substance in the place. This was not acceptable to me. I am not saying directly what it was but it is a fairly common recreational substance smoked. I did not wish to be smelling this all the time. Essentially this is the spare room in a small basement/garden flat with zero in-room facilities. I did not mention any of this to the owner (apart from the TV) because I did not wish to create a difficult atmosphere for my stay.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location was pretty good.

I hadn’t realised that there would be a shared kitchen and bathroom. I wasnt really comfortable with using the facilities as I was mindful of the owners family wanting to use them and I felt a little uncomfortable about that. There was nowhere close by to park freely. There was no TV.
The owner was very nice, the location was excellent. The price was excellent for such a central location. The room was clean and the bed comfortable

Louise was such a lovely host who made me feel really at home. Very comfy room, with a coffee machine and lovely tasty coffee and filtered water provided. Very quiet and peaceful area within walking distance of the heart of Cheltenham. Would definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area!

She is the lovely host and really freindly. I would definitely going back there whilst visiting Cheltenham.The location is very close to town center.

There’s no TV in the room, which might be inconvenient if the weather’s not nice enough to be outside. Worth bearing in mind if TV is essential to your stay - it wasn’t to mine!
The property owner is delightful. Very relaxed, friendly, and unintrusive. There is access to a suntrap, small courtyard/patio - with chairs and a table. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared with the owner, which worked very well. The PowerShower meant access to plenty of hot water. Access to fridge and beverage- making facilities too. There is a beautiful cat in residence, I caught a glimpse of her when I first arrived. (Otherwise, she didn’t appear during my 2-day stay, unfortunately). The property is in a very quiet, picturesque area with a nicely landscaped, small park within a few minutes’ walk. The town centre is also very close by.
