Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

All the carpets were covered in dog hair from a previous guest, and the hoover did not work properly to try to clean up.
Very convenient location. Lovely walk along the canal right behind the house.

Bed was not solid, very unstable and was worrying it will break apart. Also the garden was very messy.
We were attending a wedding nearby so it was good location for us.

The garden is overgrown and when we picked up our dog's faeces, we found (and picked up) older faeces. At the front of the house was a small bin caddy on its side with green gunge spilling out of it, not a great first impression. The sofa and beds are very firm and not very comfortable. Front bedroom would benefit from curtains, as the blinds did not block the sunlight.
The location is perfect. Easy check in/out with key lock box. The inside of the house was clean and tidy. Great shower. Good communication, despite the automated emails asking for repeated payment. Dog friendly. Good kitchen facilities.

Grass still not cut not good when you have 2 small children and there is stinging nettles all around washing machine still not working previous reviews complained of these things

We wanted to be more clean, there were dog's hair everywhere and maybe a shower soap in the bathroom.
Very nice apartment in a quiet neighborhood, cosy and stylish. Nice kitchen but only a few cutlery, nice touch the digital fireplace and the kids enjoyed some toys. Good WiFi and Netflix, very much appreciated. The beds were very comfortable.

there is a bit of handrail missing at the top of the stairs, so could be dangerous going downstairs; shower curtains need to be extended to avoid water splashing onto the floor when someone is having a shower! Also, some instructions re. the function of each bath tap. 2nd bedroom is quite small for two single beds.
Spotlessly clean and full instructions.

No dishwashing liquid or cloth to wipe benches. 2nd bedroom very cramped. Difficulty getting TV to work.Would have been good to just have easy access to just one free channel.

The settee was really uncomfortable The TV wasn't easy to watch normal TV channels

Unemptied ash tray full of cigarette butts found in back garden. I'm not a smoker but even so it's not acceptable.

We had multiple minor problems with this property. Broken lights in the porch and rear garden, blocked plug holes in the bathroom, very untidy front and rear gardens. The agent was so pleasant during our multiple phone calls but did nothing to fix. Overpriced. Avoid!!
