    A larger car park!

The location for me was brilliant, the room was clean and well appointed with a cottage type atmosphere. If you want impersonal hotel vibe this is not the place for you. Judging by the customers the food is excellent, the hostess was charming, tolerant and very helpful.

All staff were friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly The inn looks lovely and cosy at night with all the lights on. Really nice interior with old beams etc. Although we didn't eat there, the food looked lovely. Good location between Monmouth and Ross.

Bed mattress wasn’t very comfortable, wooden door didn’t really cover the door frame so there wasn’t much privacy in the room, as you could hear the outside, with music going on until late night. I guess it’s what you expect from a very old inn, but it just wasn’t very comfortable to rest after a whole day of walking and going up and down. Apart from that, room was cosy and what you need for a short stay.

Nice little inn to stay for a couple of nights. Staff were attentive and understanding - we had an unexpected late checkin.

There was a bath with shower and a hand basin in the bedroom. However, a screen, or curtain along the bath would be very useful, as currently it's very difficult to shower without flooding the place.

A great Inn, with super food, great beer and a nice, quirky bedroom with a comfy bed. We were cycle touring and they were super helpful and very relaxed, in giving us a secure place for our bikes. We'd certainly choose to stay here again.

A bath and sink in the room, rather than a separate bathroom. Close to a main road, so can be noisy if the window is left open. People were not overly interested or friendly.

Quirky, old building. Easy parking. Clean and comfy bed.

    Typical old pub

All was in keeping with the age of the building - narrow stairs etc so not really a criticism.

Nice quiet rural location in an old pub. Due to the age of the original building the room was quite small but was expected. Had small ensuite - again, the shower was small but you can't expect more. Electric kettle and some supplies to make a coffee in the morning. Had dinner in the evening on arrival and left early the next morning. A great location/base for exploring the Wye Valley. I dorve south and walked in the Tintern area. Plenty of parking to get the car off the road a bit later in the evening when some of the other pub patrons had left. Friendly publican/host - very welcoming.

The pub suited our needs for cosiness and good food.

There was a lovely atmosphere in the bar and restaurant with a welcoming log burner. We both had a meal which was very tasty. I would rate it as being much better quality than what you'd expect form pub food.
