Some of the road leading up the the property from the main road is in poor condition. The road Mike owns is excellent however. The shared road portion with his neighbours takes some navigation. Its ok if you take it very very slowly but was a negative for our stay if im being honest. I didnt like the main double bed, partly due to having sheets rather than a duvet. The bed just ended up messy. (Personal preference). Also the mattress was too soft for both of us, however this is personal preference again. The condition of the beds were fine, just different from home. it didnt cause extensive sleepless nights.

Mike is an excellent Host. He was ready to give us a tour of the property and answer any questions we had. It was near our intended location and was a beautiful quiet stay. We had dogs and the enclosed garden was really handy. The location is tranquil, the property had everything we required and the Host was superb. It was our second stay here. The facilities were perfect as we had cooking, washing and drying capabilities. The outside sitting area overlooks some fantastic scenery. We felt solitude, relaxation and calm at this place.

The approach road is a bit dodgy..

The roadway to the property was the only negative. It was, for me as a rural dweller, very badly maintained with potholes everywhere and left our hire car filthy. I would have preferred my 4x4 for accessing this property.

The house was excellent — pleasant garden, friendly owner, all amenities we required cooker, hob, microwave, washers etc

We are Wales-Finnish couple who live in Finland. Wanted to have a relaxing visit to see relarives near by and this accommodation was perfect for our needs. Beautiful and very spacious acommodation, could take our grown up kids with us as well next time. Very nice kitchen facilities. Lovely place to stay in the middle of the beautiful countryside of Wales. Very friendly host. Beatifull cows and horses on the fields and roads :)

Most people have mentioned the bumpy road to the property. Mike has done his best to fix what he can on the shared private road. We just took our time over the worst bits. It did not detract from the amazing property we were staying at. The internet wasn't fast. 10Mb down/1Mb up, however was capable of online streaming. The water pressure in the shower wasn't that powerful, however once we adjusted the shower head to a more focused spray, all was good. A lot of the issues were due to the remoteness of the location so to be expected. They were very trivial issues compared to the enjoyment we had at the property.

An amazing annex to a modern house. The location was wonderful but you must have your own transport. Mike the owner was ever so helpful and friendly, but gave us the space to enjoy the peacefulness of the property. The garden is fenced off allowing our dogs to roam in the private garden. The table and chairs on the decking were wonderful for enjoying a glass of wine in the evening and taking in the view. The property was fully equipped with everything we could need and the beds were comfortable. I would love to come back here again.

Beds far too soft and Approach road awful. We were lucky to have a 4 x4. The shower area isnt very safe, especially if anyone is disabled.

Loved the property. Very quiet & peaceful. My puppy loved running round the garden. Nice decking area & would love to return in the summer months & sit outside. Bedrooms comfortable & lovely bathroom. Wish we could've stayed longer.

This is a lovely annex. We rang the bell and Michael showed us how to get in and out of the Annex! It was well equipped as described and there were little touches of home. The place was cold as expected this year (i always carry hot water bottles around in winter) but heating was on in the morning and evening when we were at the annex. Its such a lovely location and straightforward to get to. Close to nature but not too far from Cardiff where we spent a decent amount of our time. Will love to return in the summer and go for walks in the surrounding area!

Never got there, booking was confirmed and then 3days later owner told Sykes Cottages it was not available.
