Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe team needed more support and the bedrooms were in need of some tlc and attention to detail.
Staff were so friendly and really hard working. In particular was the bbq chef who was also up the next morning serving breakfast in the absence of management. A real credit, lovely chap and an excellent chef.

United KingdomThe B&B business seems to be an after thought; the fixtures and fittings are crude and there are no TVs in the bedrooms; the bedroom cleaning regime might be a little more rigorous (e.g., removal of dead flies, carpet cleaning). The premium price for accommodation does not fully reflect the quality being is offered.
The check-in process was very efficient and the owner(?) was extremely helpful and friendly. The pub seems to specialise in organic grilled meats and, mid-week in early July, the restaurant was busy in the evening; waitress responded well to my request for a vegetarian dinner option and the food was of a high quality.

United KingdomI wouldn't say there was anything I really didn't like but there was no TV in rooms which might put some guests off and the pub closes at 9 which is a bit early. Last orders for food is also 7.30 which is a bit early and if you are not a massive meat eater this is definitely not the place for you as there is a large meat fridge actually in the bar. I would say it's more of a restaurant with rooms.

United KingdomThe staff were wonderful. Frank (the chap who runs it) never seemed to rest - from being a welcoming landlord, amazing chef who served up incredible steak and gave us great tips for hiking on Dartmoor. The location was perfect after a long day of walking.

AustraliaIt was strange to be alone in the pub/building all night and morning! We were planning on eating dinner but the only option was steak or fish and too expensive 😕 Rooms need work and cleaning a little better.
The staff were wonderful, the location was great and there was a very good breakfast on our second day.

United KingdomEn-suite/shower room needs some attention , No bag in the bin in room and no bin in bathroom for sanitary disposal purposes . Damaged sink and toilet paper holder had been ripped off by the look of it (probably a previous occupant) Small travel kettle plugged into extension lead was a bit precarious on the unit , curtains and matching cushions on bed a bit grubby .
Beautiful position on the moors, our second stay here because of the food mainly , absolutely melt in the mouth steak cooked to perfection on an open fire right in front of you . Staff are very welcoming and very friendly. Comfortable bed and my personal favourite Cornish teabags in the room. Shower nice and hot and good pressure. See you again xx

United KingdomThe bacon for breakfast was too hard for me.
Full English breakfast was nice, I wasn’t very keen on the hard streaky bacon. I also prefer my toast separate are not everything placed on top . I prefer my toast after with marmalade. The evening meal was amazing, one of the best steaks ever. Very expensive, but you get what you pay for and it was top quality. It was a treat seeing all the meat before it was cooked and also being cooked.

United KingdomThe bar closes early on a Sunday evening and we would have spent more time there. I guess you can have too much of a good thing.
Simply great! Perfect for walking on the moors, then relaxing in a very relaxing, friendly environment. The menu is deliberately simple and the food superb. Lovely breakfast.

United KingdomThe location is brilliant, just walk straight onto the moors, surrounded by ponies and sheep. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, no mod cons, but everything we needed. We also got a delicious complimentary breakfast which was perfect. We were made to feel extremely welcome and our visit was more about the food served in the restaurant which was incredible! So much so we ended up staying an extra night just for the food!
