Wow. What a scolding review which in no way reflects the review scores of previous guests. We are disappointed you felt this way. But let’s deal with the issues in order and honestly. I guess your character is revealed in the ‘positive’ comment where we leave bread, butter and milk as a goodwill gesture. Yet you say it was a good job as no shop on site. No-ONE said there was, ANYWHERE!! Not on the listing of our chalet or any other advertised. In fact I say it’s a mile to the Sainsbury’s. The blinds are NOT old and they can be raised and opened. They also give a degree of privacy. Yes, some have been broken. Normally where the windows are opened, but this does not impact the ‘look’ or operation. There is one section of blinds that doesn’t open fully. We have tried to fix that, but again it doesn’t impact the overall operation. The pictures on the site show the bed against the wall. It can be moved away if you wish to have space. But this is the same in all chalets of this size and layout. The single beds can also be moved closer together if you wish, although access to the wardrobe is normally Accessible. Bed mattresses are replaced regularly. And we have plenty of positive comments on the comfort. We do clean the blinds, but yes when the sun shines on them the dust seems to reappear. Personally, we find that issue on all blinds. We will address the grease mentioned on the kitchen blind as best we can. We do say in the Welcome pack that you may need to flush the toilet a couple of times to clear everything. However, if it was blocked a message to me would have been appreciated and we could have addressed it. My housekeeper has subsequently assured me it is working fine. The photos of the chalet are NOT OLD and it looks EXACTLY as in them. We have no idea what you are talking about here. You can see into the chalet and out through the blinds, but as mentioned, one of the reasons we have blinds in to give a degree of privacy. Outside is maintained by the site manager. He cuts the grass regular. I will let him know your comments. The rail outside is old but this has never ever been mentioned or been an issue as it does not in any way impact the value and facilities we offer for a two bedroom detached chalet with parking in Dartmouth for the £49.50 a night you paid on a 2 night stay in June. Feedback is a gift, and we always take constructive comments and review them. If required we will act on them also. There are a couple of points you have raised we will review. But most are not valid and at times totally incorrect. There was an issue we had with you previous to your stay that I have not mentioned in here. In the end I had to call you directly to sort. Maybe that influenced your review? I hope not. I have answered the review honestly. We have nothing to hide from prospective guests and our reviews on the site and at the chalet reiterate the value proposition we try and offer. I am sorry we didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. Finally, the Booking dot com rating is based on guest scores and feedback. You only have to look to see the positive reviews we consistantly have. They do not manipulate any of the ratings. Regards Ray and Angela

Thank you for taking the time to complete your review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay overall and the nice comments. Sorry about the mattress. It’s a medium as some people like soft and some hard. It does mean a bit of movement. The hoover has been used by someone to vacuum a ‘wet’ area by the looks of it. So it has dried and blocked some of the pipe. We will take a look and if necessary get a new one. Sorry to see you marked staff down? I’m sorry we could not change the dates, as you booked the 13-16th but thought you had booked the 16-19th and they had been changed. I assure you they haven’t!!
