How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very smelly bathroom no glass in bathroom, large cobweb on wall nowhere to put toiletries in shower

It was a little bit dirty in places , the corridors carpets were absolutely filthy

Unfortunately, the carpet in the room was stained with, I imagine tea and coffee that had been knocked over. However, given the footfall and demand of the venue it didn't really impact on my stay. It might be worthwhile packing a pair of socks to wear whilst in the room.
Good value accommodation. Lovely clean bedding and towels. Pleasant staff. Plentiful breakfast with many options.

Like most hotels, you can hear when people are leaving their rooms because it is difficult to close the fire doors quietly and in this instance there were quite a lot of guests leaving very early in the morning (3am/4am), presumably because they were off to Heathrow or Gatwick.
Convenient location; good value, especially for the area; room surprisingly quiet - no traffic noise; other restaurants close by (we went to Pizza Express); friendly guy on reception; room was cool and the duvet not too heavy for a hot August day/night; we discovered that there is a little playground and a pleasant walk at the back of the hotel

The pillows were pretty flat and there was only one spare in the room. But reception were happy to give another. Not much to say as a negative.
We stopped here overnight to break up a very long journey across the country. The location was perfectly on route and excellent value for money. We ate at the restaurant upstairs and the food was fantastic and the chef was friendly and professional. The staff on reception were also helpful. This was a great little stopover.

Very messy corridors. Has restaurant but not open. However with motorway services attached there were options for eating. WiFi would not connect from my room, so had to walk down corridor to get connection.
Convenient location and cheaper than other local hotels.

Some rooms have no natural light and a are very dark. Others face the ca/ coach park. The air conditioning was so weak. Needs to be sorted out.
It is convenient in a services, but only if you travel by car. A level similar to premier inn.

The pull out bed was uncomfortable and pillows were lumpy. Breakfast was average.
Perfect location. Masses of parking. Couldn’t hear the traffic. Room was spacious and clean.

Comfy bed, friendly staff, good parking close to the hotel. Decent breakfast. Of the “standard overnight stay” places we’ve used, this is one of the best.

Bed was very bad my back got stiff and need physiotherapy realy bad im.limping for past 7 days , not orthopaedic bed , room cleaning had to ask to clean , was told every 3 days will be clean and all my days only once cleaned after i asked Wouldnt recomend to stay to anyone not value for what i paid Plus the chef at evening was rude and simply didnt want to cook or serve and was unplesent so i go only one time Should have been a person to serve and not the chef
Breakfast was ok could hsve a bit more variety each day and coffee machine could have been better
