Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWhat a fantastic stay at Collytown Barton Farm. First impressions were good, with plenty of lovely warm friendly contact with Fay pre-arrival. Instructions for finding, getting in and using the place were excellent; time of arrival was very relaxed and took the pressure off our motorway journey in a holiday week. The Barn is completely self-contained, but Fay popped round after we'd got comfortable to make sure we were happy with everything. We absolutely were! The place is BEAUTIFULLY converted: we came home ambitious to upgrade our home to the same standard! Everything you could need is provided, and the barn is so comfortable. We desperately needed some R&R: this is the place. You will not believe the peace and quiet. And - don't laugh - the stars are amazing! Coming from the southeast I haven't seen stars like that since I was a kid. If you have children, there are lots of animals to interact with on the farm, and Fay has good advice about what to do and where to explore. Now you should know that Devon's lanes are narrow, and the one that leads to the farm is no exception. If you're a townie who's scared stiff of getting your Range Rover scratched, or if you're frightened of reverse gear, then this is probably not for you. (But if you're like that, what are you doing in Devon anyway?!) If you're a tolerably competent driver, however, you'll love the gorgeous up and down lanes. And the seclusion... wow! If you don't want to self-cater, there are lots of brilliant pubs nearby. We tried the Drake Manor and the Skylark: both were welcoming and lovely. But the Who'd Have Thought It - despite its tiresome name - was unbelievably good. Don't miss it: it's just 15 minutes away. Fay provided a wonderful welcome package, most outstanding in which were some of her own chickens' eggs - absolutely delicious and with the orangiest yolks. Mmmm... We bought some to bring home too.

United KingdomCan't find the superlatives to praise The Barn enough. It is in the most beautiful setting. The decor and facilities are so well thought out and you can tell a lot of love and hard work has gone into its creation. The owner Fay is just the warmest host ever. It is truly exceptional !

United KingdomAll fabulous!
Stunning location, beautifully decorated, cosy, warm and well equipped. Was so homely, we really were able to relax and unwind. The host was friendly and helpful. Little touches like milk, freshly laid eggs, crisps, cookies and juice, were lovely! Will definitely be returning next time we need to escape for some tranquility! Was great being able to go on a long walk straight from the barn!

United KingdomLeaving.
This is the PERFECT place. Absolutely spotlessly clean. Superb open plan living space with log burner and loads of seasoned wood. Magnificent location if you like idyllic farmhouses, meeting friendly pigs and sheep and the most welcoming, helpful host. Simply senational. We would happily have moved in. can't wait to be back. And remote controlled candles in spotless, sumptuous bathroom... you have to live it.

Respectfully and beautifully converted barn. Fay was really helpful when the weather tripped the electricity supply. Lots of little extra details had been thought of to make our stay comfortable. Loved the pigs, chickens, sheep and the orchard.

United KingdomIt was all very good. We would like to have had more surfaces in the bathroom to place toothbrushes / products, etc. There was no hand-held shower attachment, nor a full-length mirror, but these are minor quibbles. We would stay here again.
Beautiful property in an idyllic, quiet location. Well-appointed, and the host was very good. EV charging point was an important factor in our decision to stay here.

United KingdomNothing - it was perfect. I'll be coming back.
Perfectly located to explore Dartmoor, Cornwall, and the surrounding areas. EV charging is non existent in this part of the world so the home charging point was the reason I chose Collytown barn to stay. The pigs were great fun to feed in the morning. The sheep are very friendly. The wood burner was magnificent on the chilly nights I stayed. Beds were comfy. And the barn is stunning.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like. The host made huge efforts to ensure our stay was good.
The Barn was beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. There were unlimited logs to use on the log burner and electric blankets on each bed. The welcome hamper was much appreciated, and the single bed had pink unicorn bedding for our 3 year old grand daughter, which she loved.

United KingdomMinor niggles but nothing worth mentioning in what was a lovely place to stay
Great cottage, beautifully specified, equipped and maintained. well managed, friendly welcome, nice starter provisions. Owner went out of her way to get us a cafetiere. Really handy to have type 2 EV charger which meant we could drive our Zoe around and back home without worrying about range :-)

United KingdomMattress wasn’t comfortable to us (but could well be to others), there were a lot of flies that would hover and then drop dead including into kitchen worktops and floor, bath/shower was slightly troubling as you needed to step into it at a height which was slightly above the comfortable.
Location was great, property was separate and private, fire was a great feature and kitchen was well equipped
