United KingdomI did not like that the host didn't answer when I call so I stay around 15-20 min because I did not know how to get there after I did not receive the message with the door information until I get in business ask neighbour for help and someone from inside open the door for me. But way was not OK is that the bedding was not changed I find rice and hair on the bed. I did not use the kitchen but us equipped with everything but nothing for breakfast to eat or coffee/ tea.
But the room had everything else heating OK the room was equipped with everything and the bathroom was OK and clean. The house was clean everywhere else quite during the night and day I love it after the second day.

United KingdomWe travel as family of husband and wife a toddler. We got a taxi from Gatwick Airport and being dropped here in the neighbourhood. We were slightly disappointed with the area of the neighbourhood, seems quite run down and we later discovered it is a council housing estates. The owner didnt specify no lift and you had to walk 2 flights of staircase to a long landing/path that connect all the social housing units as one. Essentially it is a block of social housing flats. The check in instruction was actually wrong code given by the owner. I guessed perhaps he/she has forgotten the actual number and gave us the wrong one via WhatsApp message. We then received another instruction via Booking.com and that time it turned out to be correct one. The description of the unit was stating a unit of 3x double room shared flat. However upon checking in, we found out that there are actually 4 rooms. To our disappointment, we later found out that 2 out of the 3 other rooms seems to be longer term guests who lived in it. They all have toddler / younger kids in the spaces too. The double bed is a UK standard double bed. I would describe the room as basic so not holding any high expectation there. There is a combination lock for the private room so at least that's a commendable point. As we have a toddler and one of the reason to book a unit with access to kitchen is so we can prepare some basic meals and warming up milk etc. However, to our absolute disappointment, we found out that the food left in the fridge were all stale and growing with mould. Not only that, there seems no other room for us to use the fridge at all. We were really being put off by that actually. There were also dishes in the kitchen sink sunken in and more dishes just around the counter top waiting to be washed. It looks like going back to student hostel living condition. We seriously did not expect any of this.
Really not much to like actually about this property to be absolutely honest. There is actually one thing which is not too bad and perhaps worth mentioning here. This property we discovered is one of the council housing estates with a very mixed variety of people living in the area. I guess you can really call it very diversified community. Post review (26th Sept '24) posted here due to lack of spaces allowed to comment: I called to get a feedback to my complaint. Booking.com had reached out to business but was told they refused any such claim from customer like me even with proofs. Booking.com has advised me to claim back this refund directly from my bank. I asked if Booking.com can do anything to take down listing as it is not a true reflection on their listing description, Booking.com said once there are more negative comments this listing will be automatically taken down. Booking.com acknowledged the poor reviews this listing has received however they apologised to me on the phone but was helpless that they could not do anything further. This speaks alot of the accountability and responsibility for Booking.com as one of the accommodation search engine. It was appalling and this is effectively the last time we'd be using Booking.com to book. Thanks but no thank you.

Terrible!!! Some stranger keep knocking the main door and hit my window at the nite, and they know the code and came inside the house. And another stranger come and they fight in the mid nite, Was one of the worst nights i ever had. I immediately inform to the landord but she did not respond.
