Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Ness and Russ were perfect hosts friendly, available if needed but left us to enjoy our stay. The cottage had everything we needed and was super clean, comfortable and cosy. Lovely extras were provided such as a freshly made loaf, local cheese, fruit and homemade granola. Bisley is a quiet village surrounded by countryside with a local pub serving decent food. It has easy access to lots of other places to visit. We would love to return and would 100% recommend to others.

Beautiful cottage set in Bisley with lovely views over the valley. Local pub and ideal for walking. Ness goes over and above with all the extras and the owners are just next door for any information and requests. It really is a magical part of the Cotswolds.

ItalyLocated in beautiful Bisley town, the cottage is really cozy and comfortable. We loved the fully equipped kitchen: we found not only cookware and dishes, but also coffee, tea, fresh milk and butter, home made granola, salt and pepper, oil. We were met by a warm loaf of bread and fresh flowers on the table on our arrival. In the cottage, one may find great guides and maps for the region, as well as a fantastic book on the local village’s history and memories.

We had a lovely stay here recently, the cottage is very cosy and has plenty of character, well equipped and a lot of thought has been given to its appearance by the owners Ness and Russ. The gardens are beautiful and the area in and around cottage are exceptional. The welcome pack on arrival of home made bread, locally made cheeses and pickle together with Milk and fruit was a really nice touch.

GermanyVanessa and Russ were very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage is located in the centre of Bisley with easy access to beautiful walks. There was no need to move the car which was perfect for us. The local pub was also very friendly to us, the children and our dog.

United KingdomThere really wasn't anything that I didn't like. I found the cottage to be flawless!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Dove cottage, so much so that I extended my stay for a further two nights:) The cottage was immaculate and everything provided for as you would hope to ensure a comfortable stay. Having arrived on what was a very wet and dark winters evening, I was really so touched to find homemade bread, homemade granola, beautiful flowers, milk, two local cheeses and more to divulge. These little extras just made the whole stay feel very unique and special. The cottage itself was the perfect hideaway for a restful few days. It really was a very enjoyable stay in beautiful surroundings too.

United KingdomVery little! The only thing that comes to mind is that because the property allows pets, and I have an allergy to fur, I did have a small allergic reaction when I was snuggling up on the sofa with blankets.
We absolutely loved the cosy vibe, personal touches (warm fresh bread, homemade granola, cheeses and local honey), rural location and local area!.

United KingdomBeing a bit picky....the shower was small with no shower hose and a wonky door. Light in oven and cooker hood not working. A firelighter to light the gas hob and log burner would be better than matches.
A very cosy cottage which we looked forward to returning to in the afternoon/evening and putting the log burner on. The lovely village and its peaceful location. Excellent hosts who had left us a welcoming pack of warm homemade bread, cheeses, chutney, milk fruit and homemade granola and honey!
