Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing to fault wish we could have stayed longer!
The Bothy was perfect for us. We were staying in the area as my son was getting married locally. The village is beautiful, the accommodation was extremely comfortable. The hosts were friendly and had left us some very nice provisions. Bed comfortable, bathroom excellent, shower amazing. We also had the opportunity to visit the ponies and donkeys nearby.

CanadaTruly remarkable property--Michael and Emily are such kind and gracious hosts. Property and grounds are large, immaculate, and includes horses and donkeys to view. The cottage is tastefully decorated and perfectly appointed. The bedroom and bathroom are large, modern, with excellent linens. The full kitchen and living area are beautiful, clean, and well stocked. The cottages are very close to Oxford University, Jeremy Clarkson farm store and pub, and F1.

United KingdomOnly tiny gripe was the hairdryer is already plugged in (an amazing bonus) but was a coil one that if you pulled to reach your head, it would unplug. Perfect otherwise.
Lovely touches, everything worked and was so clean! Also the hosts left bread, milk and other goodies which were so great. The location was excellent and it was quiet but easy to drive to the gems of the Cotswolds

United KingdomWe just returned from a delightful four-night stay at this charming cottage and can't recommend it enough. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Michael, who was incredibly accommodating. The moment we stepped inside, we were treated to complimentary wines, biscuits, miniature jams, bread, orange juice, eggs, butter, and milk. The cottage itself was lovely, impeccably clean, and equipped with everything we needed. There’s a cozy outdoor seating area complete with a heater, where we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets over the farm while sitting around the fire pit. The Chequers pub is just a short four-minute stroll away, and for those interested in visiting Jeremy Clarkson's farm shop, it’s only a nine-minute drive. We would absolutely love to return!

We booked The Bothy for my partners birthday and it exceeded our expectations and more. Michael was very welcoming and accommodating and provided us with complimentary treats including eggs, juice and a fresh baguette which was a lovely touch. The property itself has everything you need and is extremely comfortable and luxurious. It is decorated so thoughtfully and being situated right by the stables added to the charm. The village itself is very quaint with a fantastic pub The Chequers just a few minute walk away, and is a great location to explore the nearby villages. We would recommend this place to anyone and hope to visit again soon!

The cottage was just beautiful and you can tell it’s been built, furnished and maintained to a high standard. It is also situated on a farm/stables where we were able to walk around and take a look at the horses. Michael has clearly thought of everything from practicalities to comfort too. We travelled with our almost one year old and were expecting only to have a travel cot as this is generally the standard. However, we had an actual cot made up in the room with a mattress and any parent will know what a difference this makes! Michael also kindly let us check out slightly later due to no change-over which was greatly welcomed. We would not hesitate to come back in the future. Thank you soo much.
