I would recommend this property 100% to any one who would love a peaceful getaway but easy reach of seaside or towns close bye .15.to.20 min drive from Lyme regis lovely traditional seaside town plenty of little shops and eating .So if you want peace but a little bit going on close bye this is ideal .Very very comfortable the best nights sleep such a comfortable bed ,lovely Shower plenty to cook and do meals with lovely to have, Well we were lucky with weather so Breakfast outside every morning or little breakfast bar inside , bumped into Martin once but didn't need to trouble hosts as everything was perfect , But if had needed them they were on hand and sure would have addressed any problem. Thankyou Martin and Sarah For a lovely relaxing stress free stay

The seclusion, lots of space in the hut, very clean, nice touches like a bird book to identify the bird visitors, the playing cards and a little quiz game. Lovely to sit by the fire pit in the evening

Could have done with a general waste bin. Couldn't find it if there was one. Not a big issue though.

So peaceful. Lovely hut. Bed very comfortable. Biscuits and milk on arrival very much appreciated.

Couple staying for 2 nights, wish it was longer....The shepherds hut was exceptional. Surprisingly big inside. The double doors made it very fresh and airy. Lovely breakfast bar opposite a large double wide opening window. Grounds were immaculate. Very quiet area with the only sound was the sound of birds. Little bunny joined us every morning! Firepit and logs/kindlin supplied. Bbq. Bed was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Can't wait to book again...

I think the bed is slightly to high for the shorter people especially if they have hip problems they would find it difficult to get on it or an older person might struggle. Was disappointed that the towel rail was not wired in so the towels didn't dry quickly.

I liked the position of the shepherd's hut very private and set out lovely inside and out.

Nothing was not to like.

The lovely views, the peaceful atmosphere. Fresh, clean and tidy Shepherd’s hut. The hosts were super helpful and friendly. Answered any questions promptly via WhatsApp. Would highly recommend for a couples retreat to get away from busy day to day life.

It was home from home. We had everything we needed. It was a real treat. Private & secluded & yet not far from the town, Lyme Regis etc. Martin & Sara were on hand if we needed anything too.

That we didn’t stay longer

Drakes mead was everything we wanted and more, it exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well equipped for such a quaint accommodation. We loved the fire pit and the fact we had everything to light it on the first night. We were really surprised with the milk and biscuits considering we were only staying for 2 nights The accommodation had total privacy and country views. We loved the fact we didn’t have WiFi as we enjoyed listening to the football on the radio. Would definitely book again.

harder for second person to get in and out of bed, with positioning. We did manage.

This isn’t criticism, however I think more could be made of the outdoors seating area, with some chairs to go by the fire pit and to open up that fabulous view that is there behind the brambles. It’s balance of privacy and views though. As others have said a hairdryer would have been useful. WiFi would be good as Vodafone signal is patchy at best and only worked outside really.

Very comfortable cabin, with a great layout and everything needed in the kitchen for a short stay. The sofa was comfy, as was the bed. Great location for exploring the coast! We were well rested and the owners lovely people.

This is not a dislike just our preference, that it would have been nice to see more of the countryside and view, and maybe a couple of chairs to sit around the fire pit.

Shepherds hut with a modern touch. Has everything you need. Lovely and clean, hot shower and a cosy bed. Ideal for unwinding and to relax. Hosts kept in touch to see if there was anything you needed.

No WiFi, and the bathroom had some hair on the shower edge so could have been cleaner.

The property was very comfortable with a lovely bed, I slept so well! There were some nice touches which made you feel considered as a guest including milk, biscuits and kitchen basics as well as logs for the fire pit. Easy communication with access code to the shepherds hut so was ‘contactless’ with the host but a folder of contact information if required included as well as information on local activities.
