How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe restaurant onsite is great to have, I had a dinner there and it was awesome. The room size was enough for the night and fairly fresh. Location was perfect for me, and so handy with the grocery and petrol station right there.
The creaking of the floor boards was the worst I have ever heard and kept me up during the night. Every time the people in the room upstairs moved or walked around the creaking of the floor was so loud and it actually woke me up and scared me at one point. I understand there may not be much the hotel can do about it, but it genuinely was so loud it was ridiculous and not sure I would be able to handle it for more than 1 night.

Verified reviewThe property itself was fine. The rooms were newly updated and clean but beds and pillows were not comfortable. No drinking water in the rooms. The view was gorgeous.
The staff could have been more helpful. Parking at the property is small, difficult to maneuver and staff was not helpful in providing alternatives. We arrived late and had not made dinner reservations anywhere so we made the mistake of eating in the dining room. Do not eat there. It was inedible prepackaged/frozen food or straight from a can that they ineptly heat up. Just go to the Co-op next door and grab something if you don't have options. Truly horrible food.

Verified reviewGreat location, views perfect. Restaurant staff and food is excellent.
The parking situation is horrible. Tiny little lot that sucks, we were told oh well first come first served. We managed to squeeze in but it was extremely difficult. Then on our second night the one other lot that they have they closed off for a bus and quite flippantly told us we would have to park down the road and walk up. So much for the first come first served thing.

Verified reviewThe staff is polite and we have been offered a spacious room, it was clean and has a small walk in closet before stepping into the bathroom, which is nice as we can have more room for our baggage. Breakfast is included so we got our table facing the lake and the view was fantastic.

Whilst I was happy with the linens not being changed daily, I would have preferred clean cups and top up of tea, coffee, etc daily

Verified reviewOn the water front, breakfast was good, room was clean and the bathroom was nice.
There were two staff members who really dampened my introduction to the hotel. There was one receptionist, that when I came in and she asked my name, I very cheerfully smiled and said it. She asked me to spell my name, when I started spelling my last name, she abruptly said, “ok,” as if to say shut up which I felt was rude. The bartender was VERY RUDE to us when we were ordering food, seemed like he just didn't want to be there. I asked for ketchup at the table when he brought it as well and he said, “you can serve yourself,” and just walked away before I could say more. I appreciate everyone has their own issues and maybe it’s more to do with the owners and how they treat staff but the lack of hospitality, especially to my parents was shocking. When we were leaving there were staff who were really nice at breakfast and reception. For foreigners, I think it’s good to let people know why you leave windows open. I think that scared my mom because of safety but I understand it was for ventilation. Anyways, treat your staff well so they’re happy at work! It wasn’t worth the money to be treated so poorly most of the stay.

Verified reviewRight near co-op…
We were greeted by a receptionist who was not friendly to say the least. We had issues getting to the hotel as there was an accident on route A87 and it wS closed for 9 hrs, and even though I msged that we would be late cos of this (detour of 4 hours drive) we were not given the option to have dinner (we arrived at 8.30pm). The room was small and quite stuffy, it was hot and we couldnt open the windows much. The bed was tiny. The breakfast was drenched in oil. The one night stay cost us 300 euro for 2 people which is an absolute RIP OFF. No shampoo/conditioner/female sanitary items. Parking is very limited- was full so we had to park far away at a petrol station.
