Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWell on arrival the first issue we had was there were no keys in the keysafe. Thankfully the owners had sent me a phone number for emergencies and about an hour or so later we finally got in the house thanks to his local handyman who has a set of keys. He did say for future reference we are going to leave a set of keys at the neighbours house just incase 🤣🤦♀️. (Still waiting for the compensation Andy!) It wasn't really clear where or what utensils were in the house I spent a couple of days with just one sharp knife one of the other billion drawers had the other 3 knives! (Maybe a list of what is in the kitchen could be included in the folder for reference). I stated in the like section we didn't use the dishwasher at all because there were no tablets for it as we don't have one at home It seemed a little pointless buying a massive pack of tablets just for a week's worth of washing up. For some reason there was also a distinct lack of towels in the house there was a hand towel in the upstairs bathroom and two big towels in the king-sized room and that was it for four people. Thankfully I had already brought a towel that I could take swimming if I wanted to so I was okay. (Maybe have a store in the cupboard somewhere to replenish) The shower is downstairs, right on top of the toilet but the shower door is actually broken I went to push it back to see if I could get in and the bottom half hinge has rusted away. There are no locks that work on any of the doors so we had to announce when going to the toilet, shower, bath etc to save any blushes. The Apps on the TV didn't work at all I ended up just casting to the TV instead even just BBC iplayer just didn't want to load. On this site it says that there is BBQ equipment when I inquired the owner told me there is none not a big deal just because the weather was nice I thought it would be nice.
Location was great we stayed across the road last year and it was okay but noisy because this place is set back from. The road you don't get so much of the noise so it was very peaceful. Downstairs was very spacious and Clean with lots of doors everywhere it was easy to have different talk shows going on in each area without impacting each other. Loved the Google Nest option very easy to use just turn the circle when it's a bit chilly. Loved the facility of the washing machine and dryer as we just came home with a bag of clean washing to put away. There is also a dishwasher but there were no tablets for it so we didn't use it. I have asked everyone and they all said they much preferred the elm cottage compared to where we stayed last year just for spaciousness.

United KingdomNothing!
What a find!! Lovely property, right in the heart of a fantastic village. I have never stayed in a cleaner, better equipped holiday home. The cottage was immaculate. Owners were helpful and organised re our check in. Back garden is a sun trap with a nice table and chairs for you to eat outside.
