Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Very homely and comfortable. A lot of thought put into the accommodation to make it comfortable and convenient - well stocked equipment in kitchen perfect for long or short term stays. Very quite area for light sleepers. Plenty and onsite parking. Excellent location for day trips to Edinburgh - driving or by training.

Amenities around are a bit scarce so a couple of tea bags/coffee sachets and long life milk would have been a nice find on the first night and morning. Unless I missed it?

I had to buy washing liquid for washing machine. Shower in bath is a hassle - just take.the bath out and put a decent shower in.

The cold tap in the kitchen is stiff and hard to turn off. We nearly ran out of toilet paper.
Excellent value for money. Very convenient for the wedding we were attending, the Fife Coast and Edinburgh too.

There was nothing that I didn’t like, it was perfect for me.
I had a very pleasant stay here. The apartment is perfectly designed with everything you could possibly need. The fully equipped kitchen, which includes a washing machine was a great bonus, allowing me to cook evening meals during my stay. The space was incredibly comfortable, secure, and thoughtfully furnished. Its location made it easy to walk into town. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, convenient, and well-equipped place to stay.

Fridge wasn't very cold.

If I have to be brutal, may need the kitchen updating at some point, would of liked a toaster ( there was a grill ) so not a huge issue.
Perfect location for our visit to see family, excellent value for money., very comfortable and very clean. Communication was excellent.

Too far from Edinburgh. My mistake as thought would be good base to explore with better price.

The property sits immediately above a beach. The nearest beach is much closer than some of the reviews suggest. There is a proper kitchen with good facilities. It is an entire flat . I only stayed for a couple of nights but you could easily 'live' in this property for a much longer stay. It has good storage space and everything you need for a longer stay. At night and in the morning I could hear the sea on the beach below. ( I am sure that depends on the tide so you might not always hear it)

There was nothing that we did not like. There were minor WiFi outages, no more than a few minutes over two days, but I believe such situations are normal and can occur at any time and anywhere.
Everything was more than expected and than we wished for. The studio was extremely clean, very cozy, comfortable, warm, and welcoming. We had a great stay and we would come back anytime.
