It took a while to figure out the controls for the shower as the bathroom lighting was "subdued".

This place makes a point of its quirky decor, which made it more interesting to stay in than a bland hotel room! The location was ideal for the city centre, too.

Shower and lighting in the room weren’t the best but not such a big thing.

The shower was not fit for purpose. It was absolutely impossible to use. I understand electric showers and water pressure in old buildings can be challenging but the shower head only allowed a trickle of water through it. Surely this makes the shower impossible to clean too. They sell new shower heads in a shop across the road for £5. The mood lighting was romantic and relaxing, but a big light is also necessary. We needed to use torches to be able to see around the room.

The room was decorated in a lovely colourful and quirky way, with interesting art and antique mirrors all over the walls. The mismatched antique furniture brought everything together perfectly. There were lovely lamp shades around the room and we had a great view of one of the main streets in Chester. The bar downstairs was very traditional but also carries the same colourful and quirky theme. The staff were all friendly and welcoming.

The parking situation was misleading, though. The listing makes you think they have parking, but they don't. They just send you to a public one where the machine is capped at four hours, so you're forced to download an app to park for any longer, which is a right pain

The room was a bit of a time warp, to be honest. It's in an old building, and it looks like the furniture's been there since day one. The mattress was decent, though, I'll give them that. Can't fault the location, everything's on your doorstep.

The shower. If it wasn’t for the shower would defo be 10/10.

Loved the eccentric of the room, bizarre but in a good way. Location was good. Price was good. Bed was comfortable and room was tidy.

The ladies in the front bedrooms couldn’t open their windows very wide so it was warm. Also, there was traffic noise from 5am. The room at the back was cool and quiet. Very steep stairs lead to the rooms.

Quirky decor including random tiling in the bathrooms and random pictures over all the walls. We were a group of 6 ladies and they were able to accommodate us with 3 rooms with single beds. The staff allowed us to leave our bags before and after our stay so we wear able to explore Chester without baggage.

Not comfortable on a hot summer evening but that's a problem old buildings have. Air-conditioning not normally required in UK but it certainly was the night we stayed. I would recommend nonetheless.

    Good location and interesting decor.

The staff were very nice and helpful. Our shower wasn't working when we arrived and the lady in the bar downstairs had somebody out in 15 minutes to sort it, while we had a complimentary drink in the bar.

The twin beds were rolling and we could not find a way to fit them, so they moved everytime we sat down on them, plus super soft matrasses. For one night it was okay, but would not have wanted to sleep on them for longer. Friday night is karaoke night in the pub downstairs, so bedtime was rather loud, but bearable. The tiny stairs were a little hard to navigate with a big suitcase, but manageable.

Very comfy and small room, very colourful and special. Only a few minutes walk to the Town Clock and 10 minutes walk to train station and bus interchange, we loved the location.

It's easy to perform well when nothing goes wrong, but these folks stepped up and solved a problem in my room over which they had no control. I'd stay there again in a heart beat! Got a free beer out of it, too! What more could you ask for???

Available of car parking nearby. Having to lug our cases up the stairs. I can't complain, though - we understood the facilities when we booked.

The hotel's quirky decor. Comfortable, buget-priced in a touristy town. We had a very economical breakfast in a nearby pub.

Noisy on high street at times for light sleepers and windows don’t open at all. A lot of dust in bedroom.

Quirky , original and nice little apartment , perfectly central for everything in Chester. Bathroom very clean .. bedroom could do with a dust though . Good facilities , friendly staff . Overnight parking in car park close by.

The big light was super dusty over the bed. Room was a little dark. Window broken. No parking (can’t be helped)

Great helpful staff. Great value for money. Nice room. Brilliant location. 3 doors away from the best beer tap room I’ve ever seen.
