Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomCleanliness- sand in my bed!, mildew in the bathroom, dirt on the mirror in living room, dust on bedside table up the stairs, cobwebs on living room light and in bathroom. Kitchen wasn’t as clean as it should be. Fridge was either off or froze all the food. Microwave randomly started beeping in the middle of the night

CanadaThe lock box for the keys has a line in the middle which looks like that is where the numbers should line up but, actually, they line up at the bottom. It took us a while to figure it out. The living room lights were burnt out and, according to a former review, had been for some time. Sadly, many Burghead businesses are closing down or are open for a limited amount of time. The restaurant is only open from Th - Su. There is a small grocer which enabled us to buy food for our meals. It would have been helpful to know this before we arrived. Elgin is a 20 min. drive away but we came by bus. The post office and another small store that were listed as open had closed very recently.
The location was perfect. Burghead is a beautiful little village with white sandy beaches, a forest walk and amazing Pictish historical sites. Fisherman's Rest is a cozy and casual little cottage. The small kitchen had everything we needed (except salt) as we made all our meals. If you don't expect luxury, you will be pleased. Burghead has the 2nd most hours of sunshine in GB. We had the best weather of our trip there.

Absolutely nothing!! In the midst of a small claims for the atrocity of how I have been treated via sykes cottages and direct. By no fault of booking.com. Booked for a long stay and there was no heating or was it clean when we arrived. Couldn't stay as there was no guarantee that heating was going to be available by the evening. I was attending my Mum and Dads funeral the next day. Told I wasn't gaining a refund of over 650 as I hadn't given them time to rectify the situation. Is 24 hours not enough time? See you in court.....

Very comfortable. The heating was easy to manage. The small kitchen was very well stocked. The bathroom had plenty of space and the shower was straightforward. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The sitting room was compact and warm.
