The property inside is tired and needs money spending to upgrade its standard. Curtains in our bedroom (4) had large tears in them. The carpet was worn and had three ridges in it. Needs modernising although I do believe this is in hand. A new drive had been laid with stone which looked good but would benefit from a road roller.

Location was excellent as was the breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.

The facilities were what you would expect from a period property. The shower wasn’t the greatest but was efficient enough. The room was fairly dark, but again is what you would expect from the small windows of a period property.

The manor is full of character. It was a peaceful & relaxing stay, exactly what we were hoping for. The location was great with pubs, shops & restaurants within walking distance. The service we received was impeccable from start to finish, we couldn’t have wished for more. The food was delicious. We had breakfast 2 mornings & had dinner in the restaurant, all were faultless.

The hotel was tired. We had a bar meal on the first night and waited an hour after ordering. The next day our room wasn't cleaned, even the bed wasn't made.

Room was not clean. Spiders in bathroom dead flies on windowsill in restaurant stains in carpet in bedroom and curtains were short therefore the room was very light early.

I feel the carpets, bathrooms could do with an update. Also the bathroom really needs a deep clean. Apart from that the old building, furniture etc are really charming.

The breakfast is amazing, that's why when we come back to the south, we like staying here!! Also it is very quiet, which I like as I can't sleep with traffic noise. The grounds around the property are pretty and you can forget you are in a busy town. The staff are really friendly ,polite and helpful and they help to make the stay pleasurable.

Lovely Lovely Lovely but please change the carpet!

Our room was a bit tired and the carpet had lifted in several places throughout the room and I tripped over on it on a number of occasions - it really needs replacing. The beds were not crazy comfy. Cheap pillows and bedding generally for a place of this calibre and the mattress hard. The shower hose was leaking and the towel rail was coming loose out of the wall. These seem little things but they need to be maintained and I would call the carpet a hazard. There was a large amount of building works happening which is great for the building and necessary long term but I think we could have been warned so we could choose whether or not to stay - my husband was working in the room and it was disruptive as they were working on the roof. If I had known I probably would have chosen a different hotel.

Lovely hotel where the staff were exceptional - so friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The grounds are absolutely stunning and there are also ample walks in the surrounding woods. Our room was huge and beautifully furnished and decorated. Food amazing. Breakfast delicious and we had a smashing dinner where 90% of it was gluten free. The sticky toffee pudding (also gluten free!) was out of this world. There is a really nice lounge area for pre-dinner drinks and generally a place to be during the day if not in your room. The location is fantastic as you can walk to and from Flitwick Station. The internet is fast so my husband could take work video calls. A really lovely couple of days whilst we explored the surrounding area.
