Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe room doors are fire doors and quite heavy. When you close them, they really slam shut!, so you can hear everybody's door slamming, which was a bit annoying as there were a few staying the night we were there. The only minor point we had, everything else was great.
Staff excellent, location great, we used it as a base for our visit to Hadrians Wall, food very good and lots of it, great atmosphere, lovely locals, room 3 has an awesome view from the window over the walking dog track and the local river. Defintely Recommend.

United KingdomOnly criticism would be the food menu, reasonable amount of choice but ordinary quality and not great value for money.
This inn offers nice, comfortable, clean and spacious rooms in the lovely setting of Armathwaite, which is perfect for walks and access to the attractions of the Lake District and Hadrian's Wall. The Fox and Pheasant Inn is a pub with plenty of character and facilities in the rooms are good, with everything well maintained. Breakfasts are also good and plentiful. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

Asked for a quiet room and got one. Very comfortable bed, also staff and restaurant food were excellent. Having had evening meals in the restaurant on both nights, we weren't able to have a large breakfast the following morning - although the selection was varied. Certainly a very popular venue judging by the number of visitors!Nothing

United KingdomThe shower screen in the room was broken (did not stay in position making showering difficult) and the room was noisy as being so close to the road.

United KingdomSlight issue with the TV, but this did not really cause a problem for us. Shower screen was a bit short, so the floor got quite wet, again, not a problem for us, as we were careful to dry it, but the owners may wish to address this.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Comfortable and clean room. A lovely setting in a quiet village.

This was such a find as a stop off en route from London to Scotland. It is only a small diversion off the M6 and so so worth it. A lovely village, the welcome in the Fox was excellent, as was the food. Room was small but lovely and comfortable. Just a few minutes walk is the river where you can let the dogs off the lead (left side of the bridge - cows the other) and it was so nice walking under the trees and beside the rapids. we even saw frolicking deer.

Lovely Inn in a lovely hidden part of England. Welcoming staff and good food. The breakfast was super. Good selection of nice beers and a lively atmosphere in the bar. Helped that it was also a nice evening too. Rooms were very comfortable and the towel rails worked which is important when you’re on a cycling tour and need to wash kit.
