Reasonably convenient in terms of location

There were plenty of problems, which began when I arrived just after 3.00 to check in. The door was locked, the phone left unanswered and it took almost an hour before someone finally arrived to let me in. Rude and extremely unprofessional staff. The place, when I eventually got in, was shabby and dirty. TV wasn’t working so I called reception and again, the phone rang out several times and it took around 30 minutes for any help. I don’t expect the moon for the price I paid, but I do expect a basic level of service. The hotel failed spectacularly to meet that. Never again.

Good location and enough parking easy check in clean and cool.

The sink did not drain properly, probably needs some draino putting down it. I’d have liked a decaf coffee or tea in the room. We didn’t know what to do with the key when we left, which was very early morning before reception opened.

The property was ideal as it is close to the ICC which is what we needed it for.

The property smelt like weed and the windows didn’t shut.

Last minute booking, easy check in - in the hotel a couple of doors up. Great location for our needs. The room had everything we needed, free parking always a plus!

    No problems.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Whenever I needed assistance with something they were happy to help. For example, we ordered a takeaway from a local restaurant, and the hotel happily let us use their plates and cutlery to eat.

Our room door was very heavy to open. I was fortunate that my husband was with me as I found it very hard to open without help. Also the door stop behind the door made it impossible to open the door enough to get in whilst holding my luggage. If I had been in my wheelchair I wouldn't have been able to get in the room. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment (nice to know that it is upgrading), but things like wobbly breakfast tables due to missing or loose screws.

Not much, other than how close it was to newport countys stadium.

Most things! The staff were never available, the place was full of thick dust, the bedding was ripped and thin. The mattress was poor you could feel the springs poking you. The traffic noise is ridiculous, trains going past ever 2minutes.

I was there for a sports game for one night only. It is very close to Rodney Parade ground. The building was nearing the end of a renovation. The room was clean and modern. The en suite was new and the shower was decent.

Bed wasn't overly comfortable. While it was close to the sports ground, it was a bit of a walk to the town centre and it involved walking through tunnels under a roundabout. Might be better to get a taxi back if out in the town centre for the night.

    It was warm

Broken blind; semi-blocked basin; no coathangers; bedside light didn't work: some sockets didn't work. Window looked onto guest house disgusting rubbish area. Corridor had filthy threadbare carpet - disgusting and unsafe. This building should be closed down until it is renovated.
