On arrival could not get in to property as the key code had not been sent so had to chase host for it. Property was lovely, everywhere was very clean except downstairs bedroom which needs the bed pulling out and a thorough clean.

Location was great, loved the surrounding countryside and roaming sheep. Local pub served excellent food and their staff were very friendly.

Nothing to be disliked you will fall in love with this place.

Excellent location, neat and clean cottage, it's really big and nicely decorated. Gives you good vibes, the host have taken care of every small detail. Has all the facilities you need for your comfortable stay. They have a nice personally experienced instruction book really useful. It's surrounded by gorgeous mountains. You can see mountain goats, lovey rabbits straight out of your window. When I say rabbits and goats it's lots there. You step out and you will see mamy. recommend a short drive for this cottage to Shanqur a near by village. The route is breathtaking.

A washing up bowl would be useful and salt and pepper and oil, kitchen basics are expected when remote.

Lovely stay at in this pretty cottage. Very spacious and comfortable and a great location for sightseeing. Edinburgh was less than an hour and a half away. Absolutely stunning village, gorgeous river walk.

The cottage was warm and cosy. Lovely touches made like the Christmas decorations and the wee personal welcome sign. Great location, the pub that we had a meal at was a 2 minute walk. We had a big snow fall one day which was beautiful so we played board games in the cottage with a cosy fire then later went to the pub for a delicious hot chocolate.

The main double room upstairs does not have a rail when walking up the open stairs. Not great at night if you need to use the bathroom.

Loved the location and quirkiness of the cottage. The family bathroom and kitchen were great.

only challenge was the inconsistency of the shower- may be its just the water pressure due to the higher location, which landlord cannot help.

Not much to not like, a lovely quaint old cottage.

Our stay in Glendyne cottage was lovely. We stayed as a family of 4 adults and 4 kids with 2 dogs. Property was just what we needed as a family base. Sofa was big and comfy, and the cottage had plenty of space. All the home from home comforts that you need. Kids all loved the property. In a lovely secluded spot in Wanlockhead. Located behind the local pub, which was lovely too, welcoming and nice food! Hosts were friendly and kept me up to date. Great service! The cottage has a lovely old feel to it, and its history is good to hear. We enjoyed nightly walks around the local area. The cottage has a beautiful fire in the living room. A comfy and cosy stay. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Nothing to add to the above

Perfect location in an outstanding setting. Lovely village with interesting and easily accessible walks. Great for walking the dog. Really nice and welcoming pub just yards from the front door but no noise problem at all. We really enjoyed our stay in this picture perfect cottage. Rear garden was actually the side of a small mountain that had sheep roaming so unable to allow the dog out in a contained area. That said the area was so peaceful we couldn’t criticise that aspect too much.

I would have loved a cafetiere in the kitchen for lovely morning coffee.

I loved being able to walk all around the village so easily. Marty sent me a very helpful message on arrival and departure with all the information I needed.

The house is in need of some tlc. It wasn't super clean, and lots of the crockery and surfaces needed cleaned before use. The bathroom floor is degrading and the kitchen was damp. The "garden" was a hillside, so not secure for dogs, and the picnic area was overgrown.

Great location for a quiet getaway, surrounded by hills and friendly locals. The pub is basic but good, and the food was simple but tasty pub grub. The cottage is huge, and was plenty warm enough (it was a hot week for once)!! A good space downstairs, easy parking and a really comfy, dark downstairs bedroom. The shower was warm and consistent. Plenty of stuff in the kitchen to use. WiFi and TV both worked well.

Overall the cottage was in need of a really good clean. There were some parts that were fine but generally just needed a bit of TLC. The outside of the cottage also just needs a wee bit of a tidy up.

Glendyne Cottages is a nice wee cottage in Wanlockhead. The village is very small but is very pretty to look at and has a bit to do with all the old lead mining history. We stayed as we were walking the Southern Upland Way and we found that the property was warm and comfortable with plenty of hot water.
