Shower wasn't the warmest/sometimes cold and only got 1 sausage with my breakfast afrer a mix up. Also £70 is a little much maybe £50-£60 would be more appropriate price Also tight squeeze to get into the shower. Overall good Guest House just listing these to help them improve.

Some rooms have there en-suites across the hall but are very modern and are for exclusive use to you.

Very friendly, great breakfast only a 2 minute walk to the shops and pubs etc. Car park is directly opposite and you can pay for your whole stay.

The only thing i wasn't keen on was the separate bathroom and although it was private for us to use we still had to go outside in middle of the night to use toilet, also our room was on top floor which was a real struggle for me but that was my fault as I didn't think to ask for accessible room other than that was a perfect stay

Was situated in a perfect location to the town centre. The owners Carol and Alex were very welcoming and extremely helpful and friendly. By the time we left 3 days later I felt like we were friends. Breakfast was excellent , the lady mandy who waited on us was wonderful. The food was delicious and plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would have definitely stayed here again , but sadly they are retiring in December.

There were no counters in the bathroom and no hooks or counter space in the room … nowhere to just put things on. So a bit frustrating.

I stayed in room 1. The ensuite bathroom was tiny. Your legs hit the radiator when sat on the toilet and the surround of the shower tray was loose which kept falling away. The shower doors didn't close very well and the water pressure was appalling, in fact it was the worst shower I have had in a guest house. Above the bed there was a crack in the ceiling and stained plaster. You could see where it had been repaired previously. That morning I got a shower in bed as the residents above used their shower and it come pouring through the ceiling onto me. The hosts blamed the residents above for not closing the shower doors and using the bathroom like a wet room which it was not. However, looking at the ceiling, I would say this was a historic problem that needs a permanent solution. Perhaps it needs expert examination. I would recommend this guest house and would stay again, I just wouldn't stay in room 1

The Hosts were lovely people and their staff did an excellent job. The room was as expected and the bed was very comfortable. The Bed linen was luxurious and I slept very well. Breakfast was top class and in general I have no complaints. The experience of staying here was as expected. Green Gables is on a street full of this type of guest house and is very convenient for local shops and restaurants/bars.

The bathroom was basic (which is not an issue when staying 1 night) and there was no shampoo provided just a shower gel. For the room, there was a mansard/dormer window with 3 window panes. There was a blind but it wasn't covering all panes. So if you are sensitive to the light in the morning, I would recommend to bring your sleep mask.

Our host was very lovely and accommodating. We arrived way before our check-in time and she agreed to keep our luggage. The breakfast was good and again, she makes sure to ask you want you want and to personalise it slightly based on your taste. The room was fine and we had a private bathroom but which was separated from the main room.

They are going to retire and we probably cannot come back to stay again.

The staff made us feel like home. Nothing is better than starting your day with a lot of laughter and delicious full English breakfast! Vegan breakfast is also a great choice! The room was clean and more spacious than we expected! The location is brilliant not far from the train station only less than 10 minutes walk. The guesthouse made our trip feel special and comfortable.

Owner interrogated me on arrival....where was I from, what was I doing in Windermere, was I alone (single female traveller) before letting me in and showing me to my room. Bit weird to be honest.

Location great, short walk from station and close to local amenities. Very comfortable bed, great shower and lovely breakfast.

The room was a bit tired and needs a bit of tlc. Four flights of stairs to reach the room and the top ones were steep. Carrying up a full size suitcase would be difficult.

They provide white towels plus a black facecloth for the removal of makeup which is a great idea as the facecloth means the white towels aren't stained. A good English breakfast. The proprietor has a dry sense of humour which some could take for rudeness but he is very happy to talk to everyone. A small double room but plenty of storage drawers plus hanging space.

I found my bed to be too soft and bouncy as I prefer a firmer mattress.

The breakfast selection and quality was excellent and the owner/host was helpful and friendly.
