The hotel is a beautiful Edwardian house with a lovely garden and location overlooking the famous Muirfield golf Course with views out Fife. There are lots of different reception rooms so you can choose if you want to be quiet or sociable. There are lots of interesting photos and pictures with history of the hotel and golf memorabilia. the house has real character and kind of hugs you!

A home away from home. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food at Chez Roux was exquisitely prepared and wonderfully served.

Not a thing !

I have stayed in some beautiful places around Europe and America, some swanky and some glitzy. This place has that lived and loved in home feeling with playfulness and joy in its surroundings. Never has a place captured my heart like here, haste us back. Thank you to the family that has preserved that homely loving environment that we played in and experienced so much joy in.

Nothing

This property was perfect. We were visiting the golf next door which was within short walking distance. Our stay in the hotel was lovely, everything was to a very high standard and the hotel manger was beyond professional and welcoming.

The only thing that slightly let it down was the breakfast staff the next morning, they were slow and we had to keep getting their attention. But the food very nice so we didn’t mind too much.

Outstanding example of stunning architecture and gardens. The service was beyond exceptional. We were treated like royalty from the moment we entered until the moment we exited.

Breakfast tasted excellent, portions were for children. Not great before playing golf for 4 hours

We have stayed a number of times, as family lives close by. However, wonderful location for a relaxed holiday. Always love it

Restaurant very quiet in the evening.

Comfortable yet formal; the important things eg linen tablecloths but without being stuffy.

The receptionist upon our arrival seemed to feel a need to entertain us but we had been on the road since 5.30 am and all we wanted was to get to our rooms, make a cup of tea and unwind.

Beautiful hotel in idyllic grounds. Breakfast is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great base for exploring East Lothian coastline.

Lovely location and gardens with friendly staff.

Room was very tired and in need of an upgrade and refresh. Breakfast was poor - one rasher of streaky bacon which was overcooked, hard tattie scone and tiny portion of haggis with very small mushroom. Disappointing experience given an overnight here is expensive.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our visit memorable. Manager was knowledgeable and took time out to explain the history of the hotel which made our visit even more enjoyable

Everyone was so friendly and helpful and made me feel at ease for my first solo travel. The gardens were beautiful!!

Gutted that the hotel wasn’t fully dog friendly as I’d of loved to spend sometime in the lounge and not just in my room.

Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and views across the golf course. Very comfortable rooms, food is excellent ,and the staff friendly.
