Having cereals, bread, jam/marmalade plus tea and coffee available for breakfast, accompanied by some lovely fresh strawberries was really great.

Wouldn't necessarily choose an open plan en suite but it was perfectly workable.

Clean and comfortable. Lots of nice touches including tea, coffee and breakfast things which was appreciated. Hanging space for clothes, modern bathroom fittings etc. We were there so that we could go to a party in Saltford Hall and it was perfect for our purpose. Loved the cats and chickens.

I found it a bit odd to have the shower and the toilet in the bedroom. But as I was travelling alone, it didn’t bother me.

The suite is self-catering. Still there was a basic breakfast in the fridge. Very welcoming. There are some eateries at a five-minute walk.

The accommodation was comfortable esp the bed. Breakfast cereals bread jams milk tea coffee all provided which we appreciated. Nice little garden that we were able to use with 3 chickens and a cat wandering around which was very cute. David was extremely accommodating offering to take us to a nearby venue which we were visiting on the evening. We really appreciated the lift as it was very hot during our stay although the suite itself was nice and cool. . 5min walk to Saltford riverside. We had a relaxing overnight stay. Thankyou David for your hospitality.

Sink was blocked, no hair dryer which every stay normal as and nothing telling you what is on your door step like a shop and pub 3 minutes away.

It was cosy and clean and no one in your face and were trusted and left to it, close to shop and pub.

Never again - done on a shoestring budget, selling for premium price

I’m afraid the biggest downfall of the property is toilet in the room. I’m afraid this is unpleasant, unhygienic and it shouldn’t be rented, even though the host did state “open en-suite”. For a couple it’s really not a good thing. Even if you’re a single traveler sleeping in a room with a smell of your own poo is just not right. There is a reason civilisation evolved to separate bathrooms… I doubt the owner has a toilet in his bedroom. On top of that the property has been done on a shoestring budget. Might be great, hippie style for some people with chickens running around, but not for over £100 per night. Plastered, not painted walls, rusty, full of cobwebs benches on the patio filled with well, chicken poo. As this is basement flat, we could hear every little noise coming from the property above. I understand this may have started with some cheap furniture to start a business, but at least put some money into it once you start making some, as opposed to having everything on budget, being frugal and selling for a premium price. It’s just not right. At least lower the price to max £40 a night for those who enjoy hippie style and smell of their own toilet… Ps. Please throw the beers under the sink. Nice touch, but they all expired 6 months ago…

It’s very hard to leave not so positive review for honest, genuine and lovely hosts, but this is the only good thing about our stay. And also a nice touch on a fresh milk, bread and cereals.

No real kitchen facilities no oven or microwave. Property was very cold on arrival, host advised heating was on a timer but radiators were only Luke warm the first night and it was a cold Spring weekend. Bathroom is in bedroom including toilet with no Privacy.

Quiet area, slept very well, bed comfortable

Toilet in bedroom but not an issue as separate living space and travelling alone

Spacious, comfortable, quirky and generous with tea, coffee, milk and surprise breakfast

Honestly, we were absolutely happy with our nights stay. Maybe if we had stayed longer we could have found things to suggest as improvements but it was a very nice visit with no issues.

The accommodation was neat, tidy and very clean. The decor & furnishing was very much to our taste and the complimentary fresh fruit, sourdough bread and organic milk were unexpected treats. We had visits at the door from the chickens and ducks that live at the property which were friendly without being a nuisance. There is a bus stop just a hundred yards or so away which provides regular and frequent buses into Bath, (and Bristol), the journey takes around 10 mins with return trips running late into the night. We left our car safe on the drive and didn't have to think about parking, fuel or emission zone costs.
