The staff in the restaurant were not as professional as I would have expected

An ideal place to spend a few days exploring the Surrey Hills region. The restaurant was very good and well-priced. There is a lovely outdoor area overlooking the garden and countryside, where you can enjoy a beer or afternoon tea.

Our room was large and spacious, on the second floor - and wonderfully quiet. We had originally been put in the lodge but, happily, were offered an upstairs room in the main building. Very impressed by the giant chess board outside - and the kings and queens were set up the right way around too! Very rare...

Steps to the additional parking behind the lodge.

Breakfast was excellent as were the staff. I stayed in the lodge and my only tiny niggle is that if the two parking spaces directly outside the lodge are taken, then guests need to use the additional parking behind the lodge - accessible by steep steps and another entrance. This wouldn’t be good for those with mobility issues and should be highlighted. Otherwise the grounds and Hotel are beautiful. The lodge itself is very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and my room and stay was excellent. Thank you. 😊

My room was so hot though. The room was pretty dusty, like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. The location is very remote. If you don't drive , you're more likely to wait for hours for a bus . I was unlucky to have to pay for uber to the closest town in Reigate

Overall, a good experience. Lovely view from my room.

Overall very nice, but due to the hot weather, my room on the second floor was uncomfortably warm -I only had a fan to try and cool it.Consequently I didn't sleep very well .Ideally windows should have been opened a few hours before I arrived ( I didn't expect air con in a period house such as this). Otherwise my stay was enjoyable.

We liked everything about it.

It was our first visit and we were very impressed. We stayed in the lodge which was immaculate. There were only two parking spaces at the lodge and we were lucky to get one of them. However it is only a very short walk through the beautiful gardens up to the Manor House where there is lots more parking. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. During our stay there was a wedding taking place so it was very busy but the staff were excellent and everything was well managed. We would definitely stay again.

It felt really quite tired. My room was clean-ish but felt like it had been done ages ago and there was a covering of dust. The windows were filthy. The walls, furniture and floor were all just a bit scruffy and marked.
