How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No air con (or if there was, it wasn't available or being used). This meant the hotel and the room especially became very stuffy, even in mild temperatures. Kettle in the room didn't work. Not a huge deal breaker, but just something that should work. Lastly, one of the reception staff was abrupt with us for no apparent reason. We were asking for a taxi, but the hotel has a service setup with a local operator, so it wasn't exactly an unreasonable request.
Bar area was elegant and the staff there were really friendly (one particular member of staff was really good, looking after us after there was a delay in the kitchen meaning we couldn't order food for some time). Rooms were surprisingly quiet despite it being on a main road.

Only problem I had with the room was it was super hot. Had to sleep with duvet off me.
The hotel is absolutely superb really enjoyed it. When I checked in I was greeted by the most loveliest receptionist unfortunately didn’t get her name but she was blonde with glasses absolutely pleasure to deal with. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable will definitely stay again

Breakfast this morning, the fry and coffee were cool, definitely not hot. There had been a bus tour group in and although we were down in good time for breakfast, we felt we got the leftovers.
Lovely hotel, well decorated, very clean and close to Derry. Spacious room and nice touch, jars of water. Plenty of parking. Evening meal was excellent and our server was Leanne who was so very nice. She is an asset to the hotel. Breakfast grapefruit segments were lovely.

Coffee in the bar a bit over priced. No gym, pool or spa.
Staff were all very professional and friendly even when rather inexperienced they were polite at all times. Beds and pillows comfy and facilities clean.

I have been using the Hastings group of hotels for years and at the Everglades a number of times. On check-in told reception, I had a reservation. She could not find my booking. I should her my email to confirm the booking but still after a long period of time she said I didn't have a booking. It was resolved eventually after it was discovered my first name was put in as my surname. We had booked a double bed, and the room had two single beds. We were disappointed. I was ok with that, but my wife wasn't. It wasn't resolved. I guess it was all due to an exceptionally busy weekend.

It was very noisy at nighttime. The pipes woke me ho several times and there were lots of door slamming so I didn’t really have a good nights sleep to be honest, sadly!

Would of liked a welcome pack in the room. Stairs on the way to bedroom could of done with a hoover.
The chilled atmosphere, the seats in the foyer were great, food was lovely, bedroom was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed.
