Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing not to like
Clean and comfortable accommodation with views over the Wye valley from the garden and through the floor to ceiling doors, which are beautiful. We were surrounded by wildlife, including a short visit from a few Fallow deer. We went on a few walks from High view barn to the river and Monmouth. It's also only a 25 minute drive to Symonds Yat.

United KingdomProperty about 3/4 mile up a single track road, last few hundred yards a cart track. It is not suitable for a low slung vehicle like a sports car, but ok for a family saloon type.
Stunningly beautiful location, amazing accommodation. High on a wooded valley side with excellent views. Very quiet and private. Modern accommodation in a converted barn.

United KingdomThere were no issues for us. However the open plan layout could be restrictive if you went as a family. There are solid wood sliding doors to partition the main bedroom and two single beds above in an open loft space. This is fine if you go to bed at the same time, or have children who are heavy sleepers. Otherwise the adults may need to hang outside for a bit.
A beautiful, secluded location, with stunning views of the Wye Valley. Set in woodland, we saw deer and pheasants wandering past the property. There are walks directly from the barn with Penallt Old Church just a short walk through the field. The Wye Valley national park is just a few miles away as are the amenities of Monmouth. The barn itself is designed to make the most of the views. We kept the sliding doors open, which kept the barn nice and cool inside. We stayed in summer so we didn't use the wood burner, but we imagine the barn would be lovely and cosy in the colder months. The barn is open plan, with a pleasant interior with solid wood features in the living area and a light and spacious kitchen. We didn't see our hosts but we received all the necessary information ahead of our visit, so there was no need for further contact. All the facilities were as described so we knew what to expect. We would definitely stay again.

United KingdomNone really regards the property but if I had to id say it's a Lovely for a quiet stay away from it all but there are no shops etc in walking distance so make sure you have all you need. There are some villages nearby though but a drive away.
Lovely sized barn stay for dad, son and dog. Fantastic outdoor space included, overlooking gorgeous countryside views.. plenty of space to play football and catch together. Indoors was nice and warm in the evenings due to a fully stocked wood burner. We had grey stay and would recommend to others.

United KingdomHigh View Barn is a very special property. Perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. It was exactly what we were after. The beds are very comfy, the upstairs section for children is adorable. We could not find a fault with this beautiful barn. We especially loved the location, which is perfect for walking and popping into Monmouth for any necessities. (Waitrose and M & S foodhall) easy to park. We will certainly be back! Thank you so much.

United KingdomCons No curtains, hence my dog wakes me each morning at daybreak. Rough track approach for a low sports car, but OK for family saloons or SUVs.
Loved my stay and I would highly recommend it to others. Pros Idyllic setting, high above the river wye. Peaceful and mostly the sounds of nature. (occasionally hears traffic from the other side of the valley). Grand view across the valley. Distance views toward the Clee Hills in Shropshire. Good various walks from the barn and nearby locations. Monmouth is only a short drive away with good amenities. Plenty of attractions and natural locations nearby. Great venue for a couple. Good value for a week's stay. Had mainly wonderful clear skies. Sunny days, clear starlit skies, and frosty mornings.

Everything, the location, the privacy and the wood burner, which we used everyday, super cosy and comfortable. The barn conversation is very well thought out and the views are beautiful. The icing on the topping was the deers, which were amazing to see.

Insane views, a very well equipped kitchen, nice clean shower room, comfortable bed and modern interior. It was perfectly clean and warm. Whilst out on a walk on the first day we bumped into the host Christine who was lovely and made sure we were happy with our stay and the home. It was honestly one of the best places I have stayed.
