Easy access to amenities

The carpets in the hall ways were worn, my kids tripped a few times.

breakfast was enjoyed by the kids, we have stayed at other holiday inn hotel but none of them have their own pancake marker. that was a hit.

There seemed to be a purgent smell as soon as you come out of the Hotel. Not sure if there is a farm around but the Hotel facilities itself is well looked after, clean and very tidy.

Lovely place from throut side and reception and staff was helpful.

The carpets in hallway and room was stained and need to be replaced made it feel really dirty an had a strange smell in the hallway

Hotel a little shabby and worn out

Very comfortable bed in a spacious bedroom. Only had cereal for breakfast as I wanted to get on the road early but there was a good selection of food which all looked very good. I enjoyed my dinner the night before, very good value and quality.

Nothing

The room was spacious and comfortable, with all amenities provided. I was really glad that our request for a room not too far from reception was received and accepted. For once we had a room that wasn't at the far end of a corridor. The breakfast was varied and tasty, food being refreshed constantly as the room was busy but we didn't need to queue for anything. It was well located, just off the motorway and easy to get to. There was plenty of parking, including disabled spaces. We were on the ground floor as requested, due to disabilities. Check in was swift and easy.

We had to pay £8 for parking which was annoying as it didn't mention this when we booked. You normally expect parking to be free if you stay at a hotel. At breakfast there was some mould on the chocolate muffins, but when I mentioned this to a staff member they were all removed from the display. It was very small and barely noticeable, so easily overlooked, but I guess they had been stored for a while!

The property was clean and tidy. The rooms had everything you might need, including an iron and kettle. Property is accessible to Uber which we used to get to Colchester Castle Park.

The room was hit even with the window open and one of the spot lights in the room was flickering (I forgot to mention this when checking out, room 108) however it didn’t affect us as we only used the room to sleep.
