Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOur room was a little dingy with no central light, and the bed was not that comfortable. This is our third stay and the rooms we've had before have been better. It became a bit annoying being constantly asked if we had any allergies. It would be better if they asked the question once and made note of your answer.
The place was clean and the staff were welcoming and polite. The food I had for dinner was very good and the breakfast choice and quality was excellent. We went for the British Motor Show, and the location was brilliant, being just a 5 minute walk from the show.

United KingdomThere was no proper marmalade, only a diabetic one. There were packets of jam, we could have had marmalade in that form too. The bed was rather narrow.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the second floor with no lift, but someone was available to carry our suitcases for us. We are both over 80. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and for dinner.

United KingdomWorkmen everywhere, which is expected during a refurbishment. But having the workmen use the same toilets and coffee facilities as guests should not be done. In this case, they should be Heard and not Seen. Bar prices are excessive. I also assume that the current bar is temporary, as it is not inviting at all. And nowhere at all to sit outside during this refurbishment. I'd only go back when the refurbishment is finished.
