The quality of the food and realistic pricing of the meals ( breakfast and evening meal) could be improved

Needed to ask for a bathrobe as it hadn’t been placed in the room, despite it being part of the booking deal. Sorted quickly though. Service really slow at breakfast, most staff were friendly and helpful though.

Beautiful room with lovely views. Reception staff and leisure staff really welcoming and friendly.

Parts of the building exterior looked a bit tired, but it is an historic building. Our bedroom was functional but could be brightened up to make it more inviting, as could the paint work around the bath and the window. The breakfast's were a bit chaotic and a bit of staff training would assist in reducing this.

Hotel set in beautiful surroundings in a great location. Pool with full spa facilities. Very informative and friendly staff. Vault bar with outdoor table option, in good weather. Staff all very friendly. Easy access to Edinburgh.

Nothing really all was acceptable. A little pricy this time of year but that is supply and demand in the Edinburgh area this time of year.

Nice hotel and in a good location for the visits I was making. Gets a little expensive this time of year but that's supply and demand. Rooms are a good size, a little tired but fine. Breakfast was again was fine.

Communal areas seemed very dated. The Reception area had a musty smell as if the carpets hadn’t been cleaned in a long while. The bar area couches were very worn. The breakfast rooms looked very dated too. In general these areas could do with updating.

Room was lovely, clean & spacious. The breakfast was ok. Nice grounds & plenty of car parking spaces.

The interior was showing some signs of wear and tear but this did not cause me to dislike the property.

Stunning property in beautiful grounds. Delightful staff, so welcoming, polite and helpful. I had an early start and a taxi was arranged for me which was great. Lovely room. Great pool.

Look at bit tired round edges. Opened window in our room due to the hot weather and the wood was quite rotten around about it.

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. Was a brief overnight stay for an event outwith the hotel. Hotel room was large and comfortable. Lovely quiet bar and nook for food and drink. Parking on site away from main road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Jug in rooms to be filled with water from fountain in corridors. Excellent idea! Tea and coffe making facililties in room.

For the price we paid, I would have expected a nicer room, better facilities and a better breakfast. It is not that they were bad, but other hotels we visited during our scotland trip had much nicer rooms, better facilities and more breakfast options for a substantially lower price per night. In the end, I feel like you pay a lot to get access to the swimming pool and gym cause the rest is only mediocre

Parking at the property The swimming pool Friendly staff The hotel is close to Edinburgh airport

I travelled with my teenage son, so booked a twin room, I was offered an up grade, but this was to a king room (we didn't want to share a bed), so stuck with the twin. I had expected two three foot beds. Instead, they were two foot six, which is very narrow for an adult and nearly full-grown teen boy.

Hotel was lovely, as were the staff. The breakfast and dinner were good quality too. Good standard tennis court and beautiful grounds.
