How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Once we changed rooms. We were told it was a upgraded room on the 2nd floor. Once we arrived our room was a disabled room. Which we didnt mind. The room wasnt no where as nice as the previous room though. There was only 2 plugs which was a bit annoying and the room was clean but a bit shoddy looking. Our problem was the smell with this room. It smelt like sewage. We complained several times. Had someone come out but this didnt rectify the problem. In the end we moved rooms and got a complimentary breakfast for the trouble.
Our room was basic but pretty clean we had breakfast which was lovely. That was included in the price. We decided to stay an extra night which cost us £78 not including breakfast. (Our first night was £64 with breakfast) We had to change rooms but we didnt mind. The manager had said it was a upgrade. Unfortunately we didnt like the room due to a bad smell. The staff where great and very accommodating. We ended up changes rooms due to several complaints and got offered a complimentary breakfast. The new room was very clean and comfy.

Room was a bit smelly so had to let fresh air in but it did solve the problem needs a bit of refurbishment ought to had fried egg as a choice for breakfast just little things to sort not major problems
Arrived early so got early check in which was fab location great staff was lovely breakfast was good 👍

Very noisy during the nights, people shouting in corridors for ages in first night
Staff found my girlfriend's sandals three weeks after we stayed when she realised she'd left them behind. Breakfast was big selection. Staff were nice. Shower was good. Room was a good size.

Hotel is a bit dated ...but was spotless !
The staff where fantastic, very helpful with sorting the parking, information on getting to Craven Park, service was impeccable and the ladies are a credit to the hotel.

I originally booked 4 rooms but cancelled 2 of the a few days before and received confirmation that 2 rooms had been cancelled free of charge But I I checked in at the hotel for the two rooms I was told that they had no notice of me cancelling the other rooms I showed them the confirmation of the cancellation on my phone that I have received and they apologised I have since received an email saying that we were a no show and are being charged

The rooms are very basic and a little drab
The location in the city centre was excellent, very close to the bus and train station and round the corner from shops, bars and restaurants, the museum quarter and old town is just a 10 minute walk away. Comfy bed, good shower and good breakfast.

It was a little tight space for my husbands powerchair to say it was a n accessible room.we were by an air-conditioning system I think which was only quiet for a few hours overnight but we slept ok.No noise from any other residents.
Breakfast included wasn't on the system but the staff rectified it for us no problem.Breakfast was good ,best sausage had at a buffer for a long time.Staff were friendly.Room clean.Good location once we found our bearings.
