A beautiful holiday home in a stunning area. Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation. We loved the fire pit area for the evenings and the cat/kitten visits were a welcome addition for the children! The surrounding area was also great to explore.

The location was wonderful. Quiet, peaceful, and great for walking.Caravan spotless clean. Everything needed for self-catering break was there. It is lovely to watch the sunset on an evening and be greeted on a morning by all the different birds on our patio. There is an electric fire in the living room and heaters in the bedrooms if needed, though we didn't need to use them. Contact with host prior to visit excellent.

The location was rural. Lovely views over the country side. Peaceful location. Lots of walking in the area. The caravan owner had put a lot of thought into the interior of the caravan. Nice touches with soft furnishings, and decor. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The outside decking was spacious with table and chairs and seating. Car parking was near the caravan. We were there for a three night stay. We never saw the owner.

    Nothing really.

The accommodation at Howgill Farm is now dating a little and their website appears to show images taken 5 years ago. They are still representative of the caravans, but if they are rented out just once per week for 4 days per week – they will have been occupied for a total of 1040 days (based on 52 weeks per years x 5 years x 4 days). This will invariably result in some degree of “wear & tear” which given the nature of the business is inevitable as some folks are less “careful” than others. I would add that as a medium built, male adult (size 8UK shoe) I could only access the double bed by standing sideways and moving like a crab to get to the head of the bed. My size 8 shoe was greater than the distance between the wall and the bed. Quite cramped really, could have done with a slightly smaller bed to increase the access capability. These ARE caravans - and to describe them as "Lodges" is using the English language in a rather fluid manner. Yes - you are "lodged" at the Farm - but in the accepted sense of accommodation descriptors these should read "Caravans" and not "Lodges". To give a star rating between 1 and 5 can be rather subjective, especially if you have little to compare it to – so to clarify my rating I have based it on my self build camper van conversion – which I use a lot - and multiple stays in similar type accommodation, including Shepherd Huts, Camping Pods, Safari Tents and Lodges over many years. Its a strong 3 out of 5 – as the best years are now behind it. It just needs a little bit of tidying up with a touch of gardening to improve the look and it will move to a good 4. I have also added further details on my Google Review of Howgill Farm.

Fabulous location and great living space - we loved the decking area.

The second bedroom was really small - the two single beds were very narrow and short and close to each other.

What a beautiful setting! So peaceful as well. The caravan was spotless and welcoming. Loads of kitchen equipment too.

Slight issue with the extractor in bathroom- needed a fuse but owner made aware and will fix.

Loved the caravan was very comfortable home from home. My little boy absolutely loved the farm kittens/cats that came to visit every morning so cute !

The location is a bit tricky to get too the roads aren't the best farm roads and driving the roads were a bit scary at points. We did love the fact that the brownie bar is located only 2 min walk from the caravan lovely food and brownies.

My Daughter, myself and her son enjoyed a relaxing quiet stay in a great location. Very tranquil. Comfortable and clean accommodation. Great for a 2 year old to run around safely. Easy access to scenic spots, good walks.

Double Bed was very high and not a lot of room to walk around it. Oversized for the room.

Beautiful countryside , very nice cabin to stay in when we did , in the cooler temperatures this place would be bliss . Fantastically equipped and come lovely food treats on arrival . 10/10

In the summer heat no Air conditioning, wasp problem : with two young children we couldn’t open the doors or windows during the day or early evening as the wasps would come inside there for the cabin was extremely hot nearly 40° … now this isn’t the cabins / owners fault it’s just part of holidaying in the countryside in a metal cabin but did put a massive downer on our trip unfortunately especially the kids been upset of wasps in the bedroom, we couldn’t use the cabin til after 9pm with the heat , owners daughter did give us some spray to kill the wasps but hardly a solution and did say this is a problem here 4/10
