We booked last minute when our ferry was canceled. The staff were very accommodating

Rooms were very, very small, but clean and comfortable beds.

Ideal location, room small but ok.

Our two breakfasts were cancelled due to staff shortage. We were given just a £10 cash refund but our breakfasts in the nearby cafe cost us £24.

There was no proper breakfast due to the lack of a chef. We were given a picnic meal of a sandwich, crisps and a drink. That was disappointing.

Lack of breakfast Also it was difficult to find somewhere to have an evening meal. The restaurants that were open seemed to be struggling for staff.

So beautiful, would have stayed longer. Staff were fantastic. Room was bigger than I imagined. 10/10

I couldn't work the TV. But that was probably my own fault.

The shared bathroom was not cleaned enogh. No soap or any sanitisers. Need a cosmetic touch. super limited amount fo places to eat especially on the weekend

We were welcomed in quite a friendly way at the Islay Frigate even though the news we then got was slightly disappointing (see below), but we received very adequate compensation. The room we stayed in was, though tiny, clean and had such amenities as TV (which we didn't use) and hospitality tray. There was a fun fair going on right in front of the hotel, but they stopped at 11pm and we slept very well. Breakfast was fine and staff were always friendly.

Our stay at the Islay Frigate was overshadowed by the fact that the king size/en suite room that we had booked was in fact unavailable when we arrived. The reason was explained to us and quite understandable, but we would have liked to have been informed in advance that we would have to share the bathroom with five other people.

TV didn't work, huge key attachments which are awkward to carry around.

The location is excellent. Tarbert is a lovely little village.

When we arrived we were told that they no longer did breakfast (even though we had it included). One staff member told us the kitchen was being refurbished and the other told us they had had staff walk out so couldn’t provide it. We were then also told that they hadn’t done breakfasts for weeks. When we challenged the lack of breakfast they apologised and said they would give us a takeaway breakfast (when we collected this it was a warm chicken sandwich, 2 packets of crisps, a bottle of water and a can of red bull! - not at all breakfast suitable, especially for the children). There was no hot water in the bedroom, and only one of the children’s beds was made (we asked for bedding which was rectified) and one of their mattresses was so soft our son was touching the base of the bed through it. The towel rail in the bathroom was missing (the fixture was there but no rail) and there was no plug in the sink. There was a funfair being set up outside our window very loudly between 10pm and 1am! The hotel would have still felt expensive at half the price!

The area. Bed was comfortable. Room was at the back and it looked on to beer garden, but it was quiet.

Great location for me. Doing a cycle sportive the next day.

When I asked what time breakfast was I was told that there would be no breakfast provided due to staff shortages. I had specifically chosen a hotel so that I could get breakfast before my cycle event the next morning.

Thought we book bed and breakfast, nope pack up for breakfast a double cheese sandwich can of coke botle of water and pack of crisps and some kiddie crisp snack what a load of crap we expected cooked breakfast, could not have a evening meal, the place is run down and needs removing from booking dot com or money spent on hotel Should change the description that food is not available at least would not have paid the full amount if paid at check out could not wait to get away

Room was just what we needed good customer service

They weren’t doing breakfast as they were short staffed
