Our bathroom was very dated and didn’t feel sparkly clean

Mattress was hard .view overlooking water tank and laundry area was not the best.Slightly noisy later into evening to what sounded like people going up and down fire escape.

Staff and venue excellent.Breakfast excellent choices .Superb venue for wedding attended.

The room was absolutely boiling, sweat box. It was like being in a sauna, the room came with a small fan but didn’t help much.

Very quiet and peaceful. Was lovely to sit outside and have a drink.

Room was too warm, although a fan was provided which certainly helped it was not possible to open the window much. Breakfast cooked food & plate was not hot enough

Windows only open a small amount and it was a warm night. Hotel provided a fan but it was useless so we cooked!

The gym is tiny and was very hot (it was a hot day). I felt a bit claustrophobic and nervous i might get stuck! Corridors to rooms are very narrow and there's a lot of climbing to get to your room with luggage. No lifts available, so not great if you're not that fit and able.

Overall, the stay was great. Staff are all lovely (although there was what appeared to be a new waiter who was fumbling when i asked for an orange juice and lemonade). Rooms are very dated and in need of a refresh, but perfectly pleasant and comfy enough. The grounds of the property are beautiful, so that's an added bonus. the overall building is also very beautiful. The best bit (which isn't my main reason for staying) is definately the food. I ate dinner here for the first time and it was lovely. Breakfast, i always order poached eggs and gluten free toast. Eggs were perfect. Compliment fed back at the time!

The waiting staff at breakfast were hovering waiting to take bowls away before we had even swallowed our last spoonful. We went to get some toast and coffee and when we got back to our table it had been cleared.

Breakfast was really good it was very well cooked and tasty. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. The grounds are lovely to sit and read a book.

Room was odd. Bed didn’t fit between the wall mounted reading lights so one was overhanging the bed about 12” above the mattress. Good job only one person sleeping in it. Bathroom was very dimly lit. Had to leave door open to see clearly

The Housekeeping came into our room and did not change our sheets we didn't realize till the second night but we didn't make a fuss...And they left only 1 large towel 2 small ones ...The shower corners needed a good scrub but overall it was clean ...loved the fact the room was set over 2 floors ...with a lounge room at the top perfect place to chill ...

The waiters/waitresses in the restaurant must smile more. We appreciate their hard work. They must be more welcoming. The bath/shower needs upgrading as it is quite difficult to climb into and slippery for a shower if you are over 50s and less agile. Some decor in the bathroom to the door would look better too.

The staff were fabulous and were very helpful. The room was perfect for us.

The room was depressing, with no light and dark. I asked for a better room to no avail. Fully booked. Maybe because we had a pet dog, the room we had was allocated for that reason was not happy.

The hotel was very comfortable with excellent food for both breakfast and dinner. There are large grounds to facilitate walking around.

It did not meet my expectations. The hotel looked significantly better in the photos than it did in real life. While the pictures suggested a well-maintained property, the reality was quite different — the facilities felt outdated, and the overall atmosphere was underwhelming. Staff were polite but the experience didn’t match the impression created online. With some upgrades and more accurate marketing, this place could offer a much better stay.

One of the highlights was the building itself – a charming property with character, set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The location is tranquil and scenic, offering a relaxing environment that’s perfect for a quiet getaway.

Carrying our cases upstairs (we are in our 80's). Not finding the facility to make a cup of tea until it was too late, because the kettle etc was hidden in the wardrobe!!

Pleasant grounds with plenty of space for parking. Generally comfortable and a convenient location for meeting friends
