The church bells on a Sunday morning!

The lady in reception was very lovely and friendly. The room was decorated lovely and had everything you needed. A fully stocked mini bar and a bowl with sweets and snacks, mini and large bottles of wine and water all very reasonably priced. The place was spotless and an excellent location with it been approx 10 minute walk right in to the centre.

Staff very helpful, offering to hold bag for us on the last day, and offering advice on how to get around easily. Room was overall clean and in good condition. Location was great, right behind the museum gardens which is lovely to walk through, which then gives access to the city centre.

When we were checking out we didn't like the way a manager spoke to a member of the house keeping team in front of guests, it was clear there was a house keeping shortage he was very abrupt with the staff & rude in front of us. The girl asked cant you help, he replied im not house keeping im a manager as if it was beneath him. We didn't feel it was good or professional especially coming from a manager.

The hotel is brilliant & in a very good location we love it.

The receptionist and staff around were all pleasant and greeted us with a smile and had a general chat. The location was about 10-15 minutes from the train centre the same to the centre, lovely walk through the gardens too. We didn’t have breakfast this was an optional extra. Are room was on the front very well equipped, warm and spacious. It was a little noisy at times when some people walked past and the odd car, however we heard an owl which was lovely! Overall enjoyed our stay and would like to come back when next in York

We had an issue with our toilet seat which was fixed on the same day.

Location was excellent. Decor was lovely (who doesn't love a Moomin). Mini bar and snacks in the room were great. Staff friendly and helpful.

As we were on the top floor, it was warmer than we would have liked. However, a fan was provided which helped make us more comfortable. We also chose not to have the breakfast because it seemed quite expensive.

It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is also great for access to central York. We had a lovely stay and certainly would consider booking here again!

Shame it only offers breakfast delivered to your room and no bar but I understand this is quite a small building and the hotel has really well stocked the mini bar and facilities in the rooms.

The room was clean, bright and had an appeal. It's was well equipped and did not look tired. Bed and linen looked and felt fresh, shower water hot and the staff were very helpfull. Would stay again.

See above & I would have appreciated a voucher for breakfast as opposed paying for my own.

My room on days 2 & 3 of my stay was lovely. The room I stayed in on day 1 was tiny & uncomfortably hot. I could have used a better fan as the weather was quite warm. The staff was very helpful. The shower floors are quite slippery, and therefore dangerous. I was very grateful that you made a rubber mat available for use in the shower in my second, larger, more expensive room. I would suggest that you make them available in every room to avoid accidents.

A lovely hotel with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. A short 5 minutes walk into the centre of York, through the memorial gardens or along the river (when the gardens are closed) Very clean and well decorated room. Would highly recommend to others and hopefully be staying again.

The room at the front was hot as it was 30 degrees outside-the fan cooled the room adequately

The drive into and out of York was a nightmare both ways with long delays for various reasons. Needed the pub once we finally got into town.

Lovely old world building very tastefully renovated. Close to the centre of tow and a great pub a few doors down. Room had fully stocked mini bar fridge at reasonable prices. Shower was huge and amazing.
