The property has real character and a proper identity of its own. It is in a lovely square. Everyone we met was very welcoming. The rooms were spacious and clean. Fantastic breakfast choice. A proper Yorkshire welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

I don't think my stay could have been improved. However I was unaware of steep steps to entrance and may not have booked had I realised.

A very nice hotel in a nice location. Staff very helpful. Receptionist on my leaving helped me out via ground floor exit as steps were difficult for me. Lady in bar very nice and small meal was not a problem to provide. Staff, a lady on breakfast duty very helpful as I felt unwell.

Nothing really to report. TV's volume was a little on the blink, one minute very quiet, the next loud but no big deal.

Very friendly and approachable staff. Meal was good on one evening and good choice at breakfast. My dog was catered for in our room with treats, bed, blanket and ball as well as a couple of poo bags. She even got some chicken free of charge when I had an evening meal. Room large and comfortable and had a good nights sleep. No hassle parking as square hotel located in generally very quiet unless something is on at the theatre on opposite side if the square. My second stay there and would go back.

I really enjoy staying here - it’s a stone throw from the theatre, places to visit, very central. I’ve stayed here quite a few times and keep coming back. The staff are very helpful and friendly.

The staff were incredibly helpful, kind and friendly. The hotel was easy to find and the free parking is always a good gesture. They also offered a free drink with my stay to redeem at the bar.

Some aspects are a bit dated in terms of furniture but this doesn’t take away from their function and they were clean and working. There was an odd odour in the lobby but this was not in the rooms or the restaurant and you can see a lot of effort goes into the hotel cleanliness.

Handy location with a car park right outside and complimentary parking. Staff were friendly and we even got a complimentary drink each. The cooked breakfast is lovely and the rooms are very clean and spacious.

Everything ! Homely and exceptionally welcoming. Smaller hotel but has everything you need. Breakfast choices great and cooked well. Rooms a good size. Visited during a heatwave and a fan in the room was most welcome, along with a fridge and bottled water.

The hotel was so comfortable, the staff were friendly and very helpful and everything about it was fantastic. It was a great stay and the food and service excellent. Fantastic value for money too.

Not a lot to offer here, it was so good. I heard an old lady complain that there was no porridge on the breakfast menu. I bet she didn't ask to see if they could make her some. The lift has seen better days, but still makes its way up and down with a few clanks and whirrs!

The staff are wonderful. The hotel is family run, with multiple members involved day to day. They are supported by a willing and enthusiastic team. Breakfast was included, and came with a lot of choice from cereal to full English. I noticed a vegetarian full breakfast is offered too. We ate all of our evening meals there for convenience, the food is top quality, well prepared and generous. Biggest fish I have ever seen in their fish and chips. It is a Victorian building so the layout is quirky, but the room and bathroom offered everything that we needed. The location is perfect for a theatre visit, the little park between the hotel and the theatre is very pretty.
