Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomProbably the space is a bit small and would benefit from a working table for busy travellers to work with their laptops
Cleanliness, central location, proximity to train station

United KingdomNothing
While it can look a little beat up when you first come in, it was very clean and had absolutely everything I needed. The price was good in comparison to all the other hotels around the festival. Great location! Will probably come back if I go to reading festival again!!

SpainNothing really. Maybe a light on a censor at the entrance door would benefit travellers like me arriving in the dark.
Didn't have breakfast was not aware it was included. After a bit of confusion when the outer door touch screen didn't illuminate at the first two attempts and it was dark, I found it quite easy to gain access. Very good idea though.

United KingdomThe showers were unpredictable, ran hot and cold throughout use. The checkout time is stated and this is fair but once it hits that time there's no grace period to get back in your room so do ensure you have everything before you shut the door. Wasn't a problem for us but felt it worth mentioning.
The rooms were clean and as it was self check in that was all very a smooth process. The location is ideal for central reading, 2 min walk from the station, plenty of food options, coffee shop on the doorstep. Fans were provided to try and help combat the heat.

United KingdomI would have liked a more proactive approach to instructions to get into the room. I had to prompt for them, even though I used the online check in. I don't really know why they are not sent automatically at 2pm on check-in day.
Good location. Clean comfortable room. A bit odd getting used to the unstaffed experience and lack of public areas but not really a problem.

United KingdomSmalllest room ive ever stayed in but adequate for a single night. Light not working in the Bathroom. Somewhere to store a heavy suitcase over night (downstairs) would have been good. Missing a simple and inexpensive trick....put hooks on the back of both the Room and Bathroom door - would have been so usefull especialy as the room is so small with virtually no hanging space. I had a back room so no trafic noise but some pretty loud (but I guess unavoidable) noise from the pub yard clearing up in the early hours Frankly felt that from a value standpoint - around £45 would have been fair. (£65 paid)
Location ( 3minutes from Reading Station) was perfect. Amenities - drink making facility, toiletries etc. great. Security at the entrance (via code / Pad) to the building and again entry into the bedroom - excellent. Room was well heated.

United KingdomOne of our two rooms was much smaller than the other, and there were no coat hooks (although there were hangers available) and the surface beside the bed had a fan on it and therefore little space for glasses, book watch etc. But this was really not a problem.
The Blagrave rooms were booked as single rooms for just one night following a concert at the Hexagon Theatre. It is very unusual to find single self contained rooms such as these available, and at a reasonable price. Trouble free access to the rooms via mobile text made booking in arrangements simple and flexible.

United KingdomDon't recommend for a weekend night if you are wanting to get to sleep before midnight as the music from the pub next door is VERY loud (I don't know if this is the same on a weekday).
Room was good and had all you could need to a short stay in Reading. Comfortable bed. Location is very convenient for getting to/from the train station.

United KingdomNothing really, it was what it was, and I would certainly stay again, if attending another family event in that location 😊
It was fine and I am glad that I stayed there as opposed to the four/five star hotel around the corner that some other family members stayed in, at least I was cool 😁
