Speedy response from the hosts. Very welcoming, explained everything on arrival. The cottage had everything you need and had a home from home vibe. Went to the trouble of leaving milk, juice, cereals and bakery items which was very much appreciated, a nice touch. Fantastic location for visiting Rutland water, Oakham and Stamford all with great pubs, cafes and shops.

The noise from the A1, although the hosts did provide earplugs, it was still a little too noisy for us.

Such a well appointed place, everything had been thought of and provided. There were pods for the Nespresso and a scone and cream as part of the welcome. It was warm, the WiFi was excellent. Secure parking and good road access. An extra good bit is that I got lost but James came out and got me to the destination. So much better to have someone there rather than a key box. The personal touch is better than corporate.

Great location to the A1, ear plugs provided even. Welcome pack home made cake and fresh eggs, milk, coffee, juice…. Being able to just get up and go in the morning for onward travel

The most amazing stay! The accommodation and facilities are fantastic, not only is it super clean and homely but the hosts have carefully considered and provided extra touches guests might find they need. Check in/out is easy and smooth, the wifi is excellent and a great location being so close to the A1 and connecting places. The hosts are so welcoming and go above and beyond, fab communication and approachable for questions about your stay. A lovely touch having a care package when you arrive. Honestly loved my stay here, cannot fault a thing and will definitely be staying again in the future!!

The pre-arrival and arrival experience was exceptional. Victoria and James are amazing hosts and truly want your stay to be as comfortable and memorable as possible. The home baked banana cake was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

Wow! Amazing 3 night stay! From start to finish faultless, was greeted by James and made to feel so at ease and welcome. The guest house was absolutely spotlessly clean with everything you could need and more. Three nights of great sleep in a super comfy bed. Lovely meal at the wheat-sheaf pup/restaurant only a couple of miles away. Our little one loved meeting the horses a short walk around the corner!

To start off it was a very hot weekend which is lovely whilst being on holiday however we did need something to cool us down at least some sort of fan, it was unbearable to sleep in the heat without. We had asked the next day for a fan as you can’t even open the only two windows in the room, we were told there were no spare fans and to keep the shutters closed. Unfortunately this did effect our stay as it did make sleeping uncomfortable as well as the noise from the A1 road. We were expecting a bit more of a welcome as reviews had said how lovely the added special touches were, there was oat milk (not our preference) in the fridge and an open bottle of cordial juice. For £100 a night we were disappointed with the overall stay and wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Clean, comfy beds, Tv was all set up Netflix etc WiFi was also strong. Off road private parking.

The only down side is that the A1 is close by so there is quite a lot of road noise during the day. This does subside somewhat at night and didn't affect my sleep but ear plugs and ear muffs were provided by the hosts for guests' use if required.

The location was perfect for my needs, easy to get to, being just off the A1. The village of Stretton is lovely, I didn't find any shops but that wasn't a concern for me. The RamJam diner and fuel station is just across the A1, easy to get to from the cottage. James was very helpful and met me with the keys and was available for any queries.
