No elevators - it requires a real effort to haul your luggage, room decor not very tasteful

Breakfast was adequate but no more, perhaps lacking in fresh fruit. Coffee was very weak... and it was served promptly, which meant that by the time our cooked breakfast arrived, the coffee was getting cold!

Dinner at the Silly Goose was excellent. The room we had was quiet. The shower was great.

Charming & Clean Hotel On the Water

    • Group
    • Twin Room with Bathroom

More comfortable beds and pillows, and the outdoor furniture wasn't comfortable as it's a beautiful place to relax with the garden and harbor view! I had to ask for a fan at the front desk, it was so hot in the hallway and in our room. The bathroom mirror, although magnified, is simply too small boo because I love the old schoolness of it!

It's a lovely hotel on the water! The patio was great to have a cocktail or nitecap. The staff is absolutely wonderful especially the night woman at the front desk and our morning waitress. We didn't have dinner in The Silly Goose as the chef had a kitchen accident, but we did have breakfast and that was mediocre. First time trying blood pudding as our waitress suggested and I'm so glad/proud I did as it was delish!

Carpet could be changed out. The rooms in the booking pictures are more updated than the room we were assigned. Parking is minimal.

The bathroom needs to be better equipped - in my view, that does not correlate to the price category of the hotel.

"The Silly Goose" serves delicious food.

The pull out bed to make it into a stay for 3 people was not as comfy as a real bed but it was ok.

Lovely stay in this old home hotel. The room was good with a very large bathroom. Breakfast was lovely with a few yummy choices for cooked food.

Be aware that a main road runs in front of the hotel garden so there is some noise.

Traditional building with character and a nice view of the loch. The spacious family suite (Old Manse) was unexpectedly large and a very nice base for our time in Fort William.

Room was up 2 flights of twisting stairs, rather difficult to get luggage up and I am a fit person. Not enough parking and difficult to get out of if you park in the upper lot. Bathroom needs some ventilation system as the room gets completely steamed up during a shower. The only window is in the slanted roof, so can't open it when its raining. No AC, which is typical for the area.

Great location close to the walking district with lots of choices for food. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the loch, which was nice. Breakfast was adequate with a choice of 3 different hot cook-to-order meals.

Parking is very small, and because we arrived later in the day we had to park in the public parking just across the street and pay.

Room was clean and comfortable. Location was great. Breakfast was modest when it comes to choice but very tasty.

Restaurant was shut on the day we were there - it isn't open on a Monday. I did not know this beforehand, but eventually found somewhere in town to eat. However, restaurant was nice for breakfast the following day. Room 3 - room, bathroom and bed were very small for 2 adults and a dog. Outside the window is a flue from the boiler which ended at window ledge height. Tried to have the window open as it was hot, but the fumes and noise were too much. Didn't have a great nights sleep. Would stay here again but would need a much bigger room. Was expensive for what it was.

Nice hotel in a good location.
