Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaA great place to stay, welcoming and friendly hosts. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, with great food for those needing special dietary requirements. The room was very clean and well kept. We loved the bar decor and the local artwork on display throughout the hotel.

United KingdomThe owner greeted us quite coldly and said that we hadn’t informed her of a gluten free member in our group. Which I had…. See pic. Also she had booked us in for a 6.30 meal and then said no it was 7, this is ok but we didn’t actually get our dinner until 7.30. (See pic) It was very nice when we finally got it but over priced at £24 for a roast. Pudding was also expensive although lovely. Also two of our party were given the disabled room which was fine but the basin so so low, with a shelf above it made washing very difficult. There were lots of empty rooms so not sure why we had this room. The hotel was definetly over priced, the most we’d paid on our 12 night trip. It’s dated and not homely. It was also very cold and had to ask several times for the heating to be out on.
Spacious rooms but no homely features, more like a yha. We loved playing the old records in the bar.

United KingdomBedding and decoration could be upgraded as felt functional not ‘boutique’ as described Room cold on arrival after our long rainy journey but once the radiator turned on soon warmed up. The view although lovely our room also had the oil tank outside so maybe some screening or foliage could screen. A box of tissues in the room would be appreciated That said it was clean. £237 with no breakfast was not value for money in comparison with other accommodation we have stayed in over the last 3weeks touring around Scotland.
Staff delightful especially Katie who greeted us on arrival and so welcoming and personable Evening meal lovely and breakfast too

United KingdomOur stay here was forced on us by poor availability of ferry capacity and lack of alternative short notice accommodation on the island, and then we arrived late due to a delayed ferry so we had little time to appreciate the place.
Beautiful location, peaceful, great views, very friendly staff. Great breakfast.

United KingdomNot a criticism. I felt that in such a big room, there was space for a luggage rack and an extra chair would be helpful. Also, decided to have cereal and toast for breakfast. I was brought museli and fruit. Which was lovely, but a choice would have been nice. Only suggestions. We loved our stay. Highly recommend.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The ferry came in at 10.15pm and we didn't get to hotel till 11pm, but the husband waited up for us. And even gave us a later breakfast slot, since we were very tired. My husband loved the evening meal, whilst I opted for a long luxurious bath. Very comfortable sleep.

United KingdomBuilding a little tired, but work is going on to remedy this.
As a tour guide I had two guests staying here. They were a little dissapointed on arrival as the building is tired externally, we entered via the dining room which again is a little tired. Other than that my guests had a comfortable stay, nice big room, good food, and a very good welcome from the owners. It is a little expensive, but that's down to supply and demand. The islands are expensive no matter where you stay. Would I put guests here again, yes, happily.

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike.
Loch Erisort Hotel is located in a remote area, so peaceful, with a gorgeous view down over pastures to the loch- and we even saw a white-tailed eagle from the dining room. Don't be put off by this being an older-style hotel; it may have been a travellers' rest inn in its past life, but the welcome we got from our hosts was so warm and the food wonderful. I would recommend anyone staying here to pre-book their evening meal as it is not near any alternative restaurants, and it was lovely to have a very yummy 3 course 'home-cooked' style meal there. Breakfast was a full English breakfast and beautifully cooked and presented. The shower was lovely and hot with good pressure, the bathroom modernised (we had a disabled-friendly room). Beds comfortable. Wifi great and secure.

GermanyWe were only on a short stopover at the Loch Erisort Inn. So we didn't get to enjoy the special, wide view over the loch in the evening and in the morning in the dark we had a very early start. A hot breakfast at a very early hour was no problem for the pleasant and motivated hosts. In advance of our stay we received advice and questions about dinner. I can highly recommend this, great price. With the family at one table ... and very tasty! Humorous conversations. We were only there for a very short time, but felt very comfortable. Try it for yourself: Family atmosphere is unsurpassable. Thanks Elaine, Scott and Michael
