Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSome fixtures requires upgrading. E.g. taps in sink with separate hot and cold taps - feel like it's from a different era. Some taps make noises with changes to water pressure in pipes. On certain times they were a bit too loud and could wake up shallow sleepers in the room The carpet on hallways could use a refresh

United KingdomWe ate at the restaurant which was excellent food, and we had a lovely evening. However, the prices were quite steep, with £42 for a mains, and at that rate perhaps it could have been a little more ‘silver service’. Nonetheless it was very tasty food and we enjoyed it very much.
The Manor is a beautiful property in a glorious position in Lower Slaughter. The rooms were very comfortable and the reception staff were lovely. The breakfast was good and the main areas were very pleasant.

United KingdomDid not like the way the added compulsory 10% on drinks from the bar, in one occasion I carried away my.own drinks from the bar. So how can this be justified. Don't let add their cost to you room so it can be hidden. This is a rip off and shameful from what is actually a very nice hotel. Leaves a nasty taste and would not return due to this.

United KingdomLot of dead spiders in the bathroom. Service varied. When we arrived the receptionist was rather overwhelmed and a little bit short as a result. Barman very good although often had to wait for service. Restaurant staff very nice
Character, lovely room, thoughtful extras like Dyson hairdryer and fan. Very nice food and bed although a bit soft for my partner

United KingdomWe had two large deluxe rooms between us. Cleanliness wasn’t good (dust, cobwebs, spiders, dead wasps, hair in the shower etc) some staff not overly warm though others were lovely.

United KingdomNo restaurant service other than for breakfast on Sundays and Mondays at the Manor, only option in walking distance was Slaughters Inn (owned by the same company) where we eat once and the cooking of the food was poor, tough lamb, and vegetables either tasteless or raw
A beautiful hotel, room and gardens with lots of parking for guests. Breakfast was lovely. Great location for exploring the area.

United KingdomThe hotel is having problems with the restaurant - the extension is very poorly ventilated and only a couple of the arched French doors actually open. So, whilst from the outside. and an aesthetic perspective, the doors look lovely they don’t open and as a result of saving some money the property has created a huge challenge - fans would be inappropriate for the setting and a/c is either not allowed through planning or not installed to save money, which ultimately has created a huge challenge - such a shame. We went on a very warm day in June but unfortunately this will be a problem for most times in the year.

United KingdomThere wasn't enough staff around and we quite often had to wait or go searching for help. There really needed to be at least one more person on reception and at the bar / outside area
The location is lovely. My room was quite and comfortable, very clean and had a nice view over the front lawn. Afternoon tea out on the grass was also really peaceful. Perfect for an overnight stop while visiting the Cotswolds

United KingdomRoom was really hot and lobby music could be heard from our room after 10pm. I thought there was a function on. Lovely lady in reception turned it down. Silly £5 service charge requested on departure but also immediately said we didn't need to pay it. So why ask for a petty sum after we'd already paid over £200. Just charge more for the room if you tou need to!
Staff were excellent as was the room

United KingdomHaving stayed in hotels where a breakfast is unlimited. I didn't feel there was an option to have more than a cooked or fruit option. Not to appear greedy, but it's always a treat to have a hotel breakfast blowout. Our only difficulty was access around the hotel for my mum who has very limited walking abilities

United KingdomThe staff need to be better trained and more attentive to guests. We were ignored on several occassions when we were waiting to be served breakfast or drinks at the bar when we could hear the staff laughing and joking in the next room - poor!
Lovely property, will situatied, nice gardens, dinner was very good and selection of wines and spirits exceptional. Staff need training and need to be more attentive to guests. We felt ignored on several occassions with staff just talking and laughing with each other in adjacent rooms rather than serving guests
