How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was certainly the best part about it.
Let’s face it, it’s a tent on a school field. How good could it be. A few more creature comforts like extra blankets, portable toilets closer to the tents, better lighting etc would’ve just made the difference. It’s very basic for the money paid which was equivalent to a hotel.

Verified reviewLocation was fairly central and tents were good, but we felt the cold weather which I guess is understandable Had a huge storm one night which destroyed a few tents - fortunately most including ours survived
Glamping on school grounds meant the toilets and showers were not in great shape. Toilets had no seats the day we arrived but there must have been a few complaints as within a day or so they all had new seats so one didn't have to lay ones butt on cold porcelain. We all survived and so not a bad option for a great "bucket list" event like the TT !!

Verified reviewReally good tents. Really good beds.
No issues with the premises. Just the general staff wasn’t bothered about stuff. But the owner was on it. Really helpful. And the night shift guy from Liverpool was a diamond. It’s a robbery though. I payed £800 for 3 nights in a tent

Verified reviewThe food from the kitchen was absolutely fantastic, the breakfast was delicious, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Staying at the school was a unique experience, highly recommended!
It would be great if a water boiler or microwave could be added, so we could make something to eat when coming back late. The beef rice at dinner was really tasty, though the price was a bit on the high side.

Verified reviewThe staff were fantastic, the most genuinely lovely & helpful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting! They couldn’t do enough for you, always there to help, and every single member of staff would go out there way to ensure your having the best experience. Every encounter when we went into reception was always so friendly and welcoming - the magic trick was ace (still don’t get how he does it!) the whiteboard with the daily joke & the racing timings were very good & helpful… The tents were roomy & clean, I was worried we’d be cold but the duvets were fantastic. Showing the highlights of the racing on a big screen was an amazing way to end the day. The toilets & showers were always clean. Plenty of plugs to charge your phone. Cutlery and plates available if ordering a take away which was great.
The location was more out of the way than I expected - made for some long walks to & from, which we personally didn’t mind! Food was expensive, We ate breakfast once but then decided to eat out. Friendly staff in the breakfast hall but the food would need to be better value for money to encourage people to eat there.

Verified reviewThe tents were comfortable and were a nice departure from staying in hotels.
At the TT you expect a lot of fans to be drinking and making substantial amounts noise - so you allow for this when you book a stay somewhere like 9 yards. It goes with the territory and you need to be hardy and robust to stay here. The problem however is that your sleep WILL be frequently interrupted (if you get to sleep at all, that is) by drunken swearing from the assorted revellers returning back in the small hours or by a cacophony of relentless, ear-deafening snoring emanating from the tents immediately around yours. You will hear every snort, fart, cough, sneeze or curse word. While security are present on site and there is no issue with safety, there is a noticeable lack of consideration for other tent-dwellers by other guests and the more belligerent fans aren’t challenged on their behaviour when they get a bit too excitable at 3am. It is not a place for families with young children. The lack of consideration sadly extends to the toilet block where this morning a brown Hiroshima appeared to have occurred in almost every cubicle.

Verified reviewWe loved the location and the staff!
We may have arrived a little too early as school was still in when we arrived and it seems that not everything was fully set up. This included breakfast not being available the first day and confusion on which bathrooms we were allowed to use. Additionally, it seemed like the school teachers and staff were not a fan of us being there in the school, felt like we were in the way. Once school was out none of this was an issue!

Verified reviewThe beds were warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly.
The toilets facilities on the first two days were disgusting. I think it’s embarrassing, as the UK hosting people from around the world, to charge the amount of money we paid and then to find no soap, no toilet roll and filthy toilets, is just mortifying. I dread to think if there had been a bug going round. We felt very let down as a nation and I spoke to others from the UK that felt the same.

Verified reviewThe tents themselves were lovely. Clean and tidy. The bedding was warm and ample. There was a bin, drying rack and small table with a solar polared lamp and a mirror. We had 4 single beds and it was comfortable and warm enough. The library was made available to recharge devices, kids could play some of the games and build puzzles. The cinema room was available to watch race high lights. Most of the staff were friendly and very chilled.
Depending on where the camp is set up greatly determines the full experience. This site was on the grounds of a school. The facilities are spread out as to what is available on the grounds. The tea and coffee station was closed from 7am-11am for some reason. The breakfast was pricey and perhaps we got the tail end of a batch but everything was cold and greasy. No cleaning took place in the showers / abulsions over the weekend (friday - monday morning).

Verified reviewQuality bell tents, comfy camp beds. Lovely and clean inside the tents, almost brand new like. Use of school library was helpful for evenings.
Condition of toilets etc. This isn't Nine Yards problem really. Toilet seats missing, doors broken etc. Also, some campers are disgusting on how they leave the loos! No consideration for others. As we arrived on day one, facilities where reduced until the day after in the evening.
