It was perfect.

Stunning country house in a great location. Our room was perfect, the house has so much character. Michelle was the perfect host, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing. Overall a great stay and will definitely be retuning again soon.

Maps brought us to the hotel via an extremely steep road to the right of the hotel. There could have been clearer sign posting to the main entrance and the steep entrance should have been fenced off. We are really worried this hill damaged the clutch on our car. But other than that the hotel was lovely!!!!

Absolutely beautiful country house, extremely peaceful and the staff were incredible. The beds were so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud, and the food was delicious!

Our only criticism is that we would have liked a mirror to be able to dry our hair and some bedsides lights as it was very dark when the main light was switched off.

We had booked a twin room and it was made up as a double when we got there so the lady had to remake it as twin. As old building goes the inner walls and ceiling as thing and cracking, in a way it's part of the charm. For the dinner menu the two 'pre-order' options meant you had to order more than a day in advance. Unfortunately they had run out of vegetarian options. What we had though was absolutely delicious.

Michelle was lovely, a wonderful host and we love the house, the beautiful land around it and the relaxing atmosphere. We ate breakfast there, my granddaughter had the vegetarian full English (the best she's had) and I chose the yogurt, fresh berries and granola. We both slept exceptionally well in comfortable beds. I would always chose to go back if I'm lucky enough to revisit this amazing part of Wales again.

Described as inclusive of breakfast. That needs amending on the website. Sometimes understandably Michelle is very stretched.It is largely a one man band currently.

Some of the doors were very heavy and locks were stiff but the hotel has recently changed hands and I understand that the new owners are planning to make various improvements. Also guests should know that the road up to the hotel is very steep and dark at night - but its gloriously quiet at night!

Many thanks to Michelle for giving us a comfortable first floor room with a view! She also made us breakfast just as we requested - freshly cooked eggs, bacon and toast with a big pot of hot coffee - but we were offered a broad choice of other options. Lots of potential for long walks over the hills to the rear of the property - great for younger people! And some trails reach the ancient burial sites that are found in this area.

Still a ‘work in progress’ so 1 or 2 items were missing from the room. Manager sorted immediately on notification. Didn’t expect to have to be charged for a ‘cooked’ element of Breakfast. This SHOULD have been stated in the ‘overview’ on the booking site. For the amount of monies paid for the stay, I would Have expected that this would have been included within the price. Ian & Mandy

It was quite difficult to find the hotel. Since there is no road connection and some roads were closed, we had to look for another way. Luckily, a local person came along who helped us find a detour to get to the hotel. It took us quite a lot of time and nerves. So more tips and signs on the roads would have been very appropriate. But the hotel itself, the area around, the rooms - everything was wonderful and beautiful.

The bathroom looked a bit tired and definitely needed a refurb - a luxurious walk-in shower would have been great.

The food was amazing and Michelle is a fantastic cook! We were made to feel very welcome and the location was fantastic - a hidden gem!

Beautiful view from outside of the hotel, amazing hotel room inside with a superb bed and lovely bedding. Shower room was outstanding with a touch of genuine class. Lucky enough to have the weather too, what more could you ask for. Would we return…without a doubt !

Remoteness and great hospitality.

Great remote location. Hotel is very much a project in progress but fantastic venue, great, attentive staff and great hospitality. Can thoroughly recommend and will only get better in the future.

Michelle was fantastic, working like a Trojan, holding everything together, nothing too much trouble, and always with a smile. Fabulous food and brilliant location. Grant, a calm presence, quietly keeping an eye on everything, and an interesting top bloke as well. We loved the friendly atmosphere, the drinks on the terrace and the stunning views.
