It was a relaxing place. The gardens are beautiful with some giant plants. Walking through the gardens to the beach was lovely. The food was good quality.

I didn’t like sitting upstairs from the breakfast buffet, kept having to go up and down the stairs for all we needed. The staff are focused on downstairs were the majority sit but upstairs were you have to sit if you have a dog is very inconvenient at breakfast. It’s not so bad in the evening because you are waited on then even though the attention once again is mainly on those seated downstairs. Ideal place if you haven’t got a dog

Our room and balcony… and the garden and beach. Receptionist lovely and very helpful as were the dinner staff …. Food really good

Breakfast staff too reactive not proactive… tables not fully laid in dog lounge..slow to respond.. Outside furniture a little in need of tlc and the big green object which dominates the sitting area has a very tired cover. No bar service on the terrace.

the gardens are amazing , a true gem of the southwest

the service was shocking to none existent , ignored by staff who spend their time chatting and not serving even though they where empty , rooms not cleaned well , stale loose biscuits , the breakfast was cheap quality like a supermarket cafe , and the bed was like a brick

Amazing gardens and beach access, friendly if slightly disorganised staff, great location.

Slightly disorganised (but friendly) staff. Although breakfast was really excellent our dinner there wasn’t great.

    Nice location and gardens.

Breakfast somewhat unreliable. Day 1 Order forgotten and day 3 wrong food delivered.

We stayed in the hotel before and it was amazing ! This time we went for two rooms , staff were really nice but this time children stayed in a room on the first floor and the smell in their room was unbearable. I think it came from bathroom, my teenage children ended up staying in our room and we left earlier.

    Horrible smell !

Positives: hotel set in a beautiful location. Rooms have a 70s vibe. Simple and nice. Not sure over £230/night is worth it though. Beds very comfortable (we stayed 3 nights but had to stay our 3rd night in a different room as we added it on to our booking and both rooms were the simialr in set up).

Negatives: we stayed in room 1 (noisy from above, a pipe was creaking 5.50am both nights we stayed, so it must be the heating system expanding) and we could hear someone snoring! We also stayed in room 34 (still could hear people in rooms next door). When we arrived, no water left in the rooms on either day as they should have, but we were able to get from reception. The fridge in both rooms made a loud hum so we turned it off. Most annoyingly about this hotel is the non existence of reception staff. I was frantically trying to call on arrival day as we were 1hr late to check-in due to traffic. I called around 8 times over 3 hours and emailed. No one responded. Luckily someone was at reception when we arrived! No one was there at check out on either occasion, despite using the bell by reception, no one came. We just left the card to the rooms on a piece of paper! On the day we were trying to find out if we needed to checkout and back in for the extra night, we waited 45mins for someone and had to go to the restaurant to find anyone to help. I tried to call and book this place previously and even then no one answered the phone. Also no one answered my queries from booking.com messages in the week before our stay re. adding on the extra night. They just send an automated email. This is certainly not a £230/night place. Such a shame their service is so bad because the location is beautiful and this has the potential to be an amazing place.

Superb setting gardens amazing and private beach rooms spacious and bed extremely comfy

No proper shower in room and no one at reception or bar after ringing and ringing the bells ! Food ok but better quality breakfast ingredients would make this hotel go up a notch !

This is a lovely hotel you must stay here !! we stayed here for one night for our silver wedding anniversary as we had our wedding reception here 25 years ago . The hotel is beautiful, has definitely been updated in the last 25 years . All staff were friendly and welcoming , food was superb and we were surprised with a bottle of Prosecco and a card from the hotel in our room . The garden room we stayed in was spacious , really clean and a comfy bed , lovely to be able to walk out into the gardens from our room . The gardens are beautiful and enchanting with established plants and different pathways to explore . This is proper Cornwall , peaceful, relaxed and friendly. We would definitely stay again , great value for money .

The addition of a pool would be wonderful but is not essential.

Spotlessly clean, great spacious room with lovely views, breakfast with vegan options, fantastic gardens ( Trebah/ Glendurgan esque) and beach, wonderful runs along coast path to Helford passage or Falmouth.... lovely!! Great staff team!

Not a lot really! Occasional issues in the upstairs dining room ( for dog owners) where there were queues. Maybe.... just maybe.... allocating breakfast slots works better when the hotel is full. The staff did experience some capacity constraints! But hey.... this is a minor quibble!

On so many counts, the Meudon exceeded our expectations. Location is beautiful with gardens reaching their own private cove and beach. Food was excellent although the menu was a little limited for me (fish 🤮). Room with balcony overlooking gardens was very comfortable with king-size bed. The staff? Wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. For example, we arrived at 9:50am (left home at 4:30am to avoid traffic) and obviously our room was not ready - Abbie told us to go and have breakfast downstairs (no charge) and enjoy the gardens and beach until the room was ready. Fab welcome. So big thanks to Abbie, Jack (thanks for the steak 😉), Alex, x 2, Lucy, Will, Tiana, Alice, Darcy, Christian, George, Rachel, Yasmin, Chris, Scott, Tina, Amelia and anyone else we have shamefully omitted.

Price of beer (£7 for 300ml can). That our stay was so short (only a week).
