How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The room.its self, for it to of been newly refurbished, it fixtures and fittings were not great and there was hairs all in the bathroom, bathroom door was very hard to open, bunk beds where sooo squeaky, beds where on an angle, so felt like you was rolling off the bed, head board on one of the double beds wasn't attached. The top bunk mattress had a massive yellow stain on it. wasn't attached, lamps the shads where falling off. It was ment to be a sea view, which it was but out of the smallest windows.. for how much it cost I feel wasn't worth the price

Verified reviewThe entertainment was really good and downstairs was lovely and the staff were funny and well mannered
The lift was absolutely tiny could hardly fit the pram in. The room was not clean at all, someone’s dirty socks and tongue bar on the floor and under the bed which wasn’t good as I have a 1 year old who could have touched it.

Verified reviewThe location is great. The cliental, absolutely awful. There is truly nothing positive to write about this venue.
Everything. On arrival, the bar was full of budget holiday seekers. I was assured that I wouldn't be disturbed by the racket from the bar as I was on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, at 23:30, our neighbours decided to have a domestic and the police had to be called. At 02:30, our neighbours downstairs decided to have a party, with music playing for an hour. Hotel staff only intervened following our escalations on both occasions. Our sleep was non existent. Whilst the staff did their best to mange the incidents and whilst we were offered the opportunity to move rooms, we couldn't risk another poor night sleep and came home. No refund, a half-hearted apology and off we went. There is a reason this is usually the last hotel available! I would truly avoid staying here unless you are extremely desperate, or are stuck in a monsoon and want somewhere to stay dry.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your stay was disrupted by the behaviour of other guests. Unfortunately, on rare occasions, incidents can occur that are outside of any hotel’s control. In this instance, our team did act promptly when you raised concerns: the first disturbance required police attendance, and the second was dealt with directly by our Night Team once it was escalated. While such behaviour is not typical of our guests, we cannot pre-empt it without being informed in real time, which is why we always encourage guests to contact Reception or our Night Porters immediately. We also note that you were offered the opportunity to move rooms after these events, but this was declined. Our policy is to work with guests in real time to resolve any issues, and we believe our team did everything possible within the circumstances and offered you a fair and reasonable fix to your situation. As is standard across the industry, we do not provide refunds for nights already stayed, particularly when rooms have been used and where we offered a fair and reasonable room swap which you rejected. We regret that your stay was not as restful as you had hoped, and we do believe that we dealt with both situations you mentioned efficiently and gave you a reasonable offer of a different room. We would emphasise for future guests reading that the vast majority of our visitors have enjoyable, comfortable stays with us, as reflected in our many positive reviews. Kind regards, The Jubilee Hotel Team

Verified reviewI took my two sons away for an overnight break and I can honestly say the hotel was so welcoming, the staff really friendly and we loved the games in the hotel. My sons especially liked the escape room and darts. I would definitely recommend the hotel as the staff were always there to help and made our stay so relaxing and stress free - thank you. Also thanks to josh for the entertainment and adding that extra fun to our stay.

Verified reviewI stayed with my 2 children and we had a lovely time. Highlights for us were: Staff were amazing and couldn't be any more helpful. Bingo was great fun (even better as I won!) and the cocktails were delicious. The smokehouse food was really good as well. Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.
Wish we could have stayed longer as I didnt want to leave :)

Verified reviewBreakfast was good value with lots to choose from, had the Sunday roast as well it was lovely . The staff went out of there way to help as I booked my home journey by train the day after my checkout as I made a mistake with dates . The staff really helped and gave me a room for a extra night as it would have been too much for my asd son .
Had noisy neighbours on the last night
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and perfect scores. We’re delighted that your first visit to Weymouth was such a positive experience and that you enjoyed both our breakfast and Sunday roast. We will definitely tell our amazing kitchen team your feedback. It’s especially lovely to hear that our staff were able to step in and support you when your travel plans changed – ensuring comfort for your son and family is exactly the kind of care we want every guest to feel. We’re sorry to hear that your final night was disturbed by noisy neighbours. While this is thankfully rare, our team is always available 24 hours a day to step in if alerted in real time, and we’ll continue working hard to make sure all our guests can enjoy a peaceful stay. Verified reviewThe room was spacious and clean
Only one person greeted at the beginning she was lovely but stuff were not welcoming and no where to be seen Very small lift for pushchairs and luggage
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We’re pleased to hear you found your room spacious, clean, and comfortable. We’re sorry if you felt the team were not as visible or welcoming as you expected beyond your first greeting. We normally pride ourselves on being attentive and approachable, so we’ll be sharing this with our reception management team to make sure we’re giving every guest the same warm welcome throughout their stay. With regards to the lift, we do try to be transparent – The Jubilee Hotel East is a Grade II listed building, and the lifts are smaller than those you’d find in a modern property. For guests with larger pushchairs or extra luggage, our reception team is always happy to help with bags or advise on the best routes through the building. We hope overall you enjoyed your stay in Weymouth and would love the chance to welcome you back again. Kind regards, The Jubilee Hotel Team

Some staff were rude and accused us of lying about a situation that staff a member had caused. Due to this situation we felt unsafe and vulnerable and as I was away with my daughter and two young grandchildren felt we needed to leave the hotel early

Verified reviewRoom we had was overall good, silver sea view, didn’t disappoint. check in at reception was great, however the online portal was not quick and didn’t really save any time for myself or the reception staff. Breakfast was very good value. Overall staff were excellent and professional. Rooms were clean but minor issues could be seen if you checked closely. Shower was good and hot. Lack of toiletries. tea tray well stocked.
Breakfast staff were not very organised and needed some training, for the first 5 mins no staff were on hand, bread and milk ran out. Balcony table and chairs need updating.

Verified reviewThe cooked breakfast was ok and the location was great, right over the road from the beach and attractions.
No ventilation or air vent in tiny shower room Flat compacted pillows, one pillowcase had someone else's grubby face marks all over it, hadn't been changed. Wifi didn't work, or it may have but it was so slow we gave up. Very loud around the room could easily hear other guests all night stomping up and down stairs and coming in through main door. Room was stifling hot with no air con, cigarette smell on everything, we were ground floor and had the window open slightly at night hoping for breeze- a loud, rude indian man pushed our blinds open and stuck his head in through our window asking to be let in the block, abruptly asking where reception is, what rooms these are and that he didn't have a key?! Vile man woke our baby up. It was very intrusive and a real safety concern. Staff member apologised and asked our room number and that was it, we were half expecting some sort of good will gesture on checkout but they did absolutely nothing.
